First time to visit this facility. Initial impression is a low budget establishment in someoneās backyard. I patiently waited at the āconcessionā window to pay for our party of 8 to play mini golf. There were approximately 30ish children ahead of me waiting for a scoop of ice cream, probably about 30 minutes waiting in line. When it was finally my turn to pay for our game, a worker from behind the line announced for anyone that was in line to play mini golf to follow him. I am literally at the counter with my money out at this point. The large crowd who was also waiting behind this group of little ones immediately turned to follow him. The young man working at the concession stand instructed me that I needed to follow also. I asked if he was kidding me? He hesitantly took my money and handed me a single ticket and wrote the number of participants on the back. Again, we waited behind the group who were fortunate enough to go ahead. While waiting, we battled termites and other insects that appeared to be from the mulch they were shoveling and moving. The course itself was not like they advertise ābeach theme/pigeon forge themeā. True it had some white sand on the lower levelā¦.but the course also had several potted dead plants from Lowes (tags still on the pots), the course it was very cramped with each par being really close together, and the surrounding fields were trashy looking with some overturned barrels and a lone stop sign lying in the field similar to a red neck target practice. Not really something to look at while waiting for the groups ahead of you to play their game. $9 per person, per game to play mini golf is not bad but maybe somewhere else. Truly disappointed overall. I honestly believe the higher ratings for this facility are from those who have been so bored with the pandemic, they are willing to give their money away just to have something to do. Johnson City truly needs more family...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a blast playing both courses. Played the outside course during the day and played the roofed course during glow ball hours. It had alot of interesting secret sweet spots that allowed for some pretty exciting hole in one opportunities.
Pros: outside course had misting fans, great scenery for the outside course. Interesting ball choices including glow balls and courses. Digital score card requiring no app. Cozey. Very family friendly. And the trick shots on the roofed course seemingly looked as if they wouldnt function but to my surprise did well to reward myself atleast 4 hole in ones.
Cons: the railing should be raised slightly to prevent balls from going out of bounds. Not so much that people can happy gilmore the ball but enough to where if you are attempting a hole in one or are trying to ride the wall the ball wont just escape. About half of the glow balls either wouldnt stay on or just wouldnt turn on. No control over when people play so lines tended to form fairly quickly as a party of three which lead to feeling rushed and cramped with little space for others to wait. And the last thing i think would be helpful is creating a rules sheet for hole 16. It wasnt until after i played and that i realised you were supposed to add points to your final score
Ultimately i really enjoyed myself and will deffinately be back to test my luck against the 36 holes of sillyness and vibes and dont let my cons list detour you i still had a blast. Those are just a few things i would like to see updated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really wanted to like this place. It has a fun concept and could be a great spot for a casual game of mini golf. Unfortunately, the reality was disappointing. The course was cluttered with broken and poorly maintained decor, some of which posed actual safety hazards. A giant moving windmill was positioned in a way that felt more dangerous than entertaining (I witnessed several people accidentally hitting their heads on the sail of the windmill). Small āminingā trucks sat on the sidewalk, creating tripping risks. Additionally in the mining themed hole, not only was it difficult to see given half of the lights were not working, but multiple people (including myself) tripped over the strip of wood connected to the hole. It would have been easier to avoid this tripping hazard if all of the lights had been on and working.
Much of the ceramic decor throughout the course was visibly cracked or broken, clearly from repeated golf ball hits. Instead of replacing or repairing things properly, the pieces were either left lying around or sloppily patched with duct tape and paint. This gave the whole place a run-down, neglected feel.
Itās clear the venue once had charm, and it still holds a lot of potential, but itās long overdue for a serious upgrade. With some attention to maintenance and a commitment to safety and cleanliness, this could be a...
