When the store first launched, the bakery was fantastic and staff, very helpful. It started when came in and got a couple dozen fresh donuts for one of my customers on Friday. They ended up being a big huge hit and despite being relatively expensive per dozen, I didn’t mind because the quality was there. Over time, this increased to anywhere from 3-7 dozen depending on who I was visiting that day. On particular Friday, one of the bakery staff suggested I start calling the orders ahead so they could have them ready to go in the morning. This worked out great and I didn’t have to spend time filling up the boxes myself and I didn’t clear out their display cases. At this point, I’ve been doing this for months and it has been working well… or so I thought? As I write this, it’s Thursday and I just had my partner call in a donut order for tomorrow. The lady she spoke with said the bakery cannot accommodate the order and that “We need at least 24 hours advance notice for all orders.” which seems odd since they’re made fresh every morning. Isn’t that the entire point?
Honestly, I’ve gotten the feeling that my donut orders have been a burden for a few weeks now. Asking for an assorted dozen and getting all of one type piled into a box, the donuts not being ready despite the person on the phone telling me “7:30 works for them!”, and the general demeanor of the bakery staff just acting as if I’m an inconvenience. Honestly, if at any point, any of this had been communicated, I would’ve gladly accommodated accordingly. I get it. Service is tough and I really always did try to be patient and polite when I came in.
I guess in life, most good things must come to an end. Thanks Woods! Your donuts were excellent; your bakery customer service, less so. Sadly, I’ll have to explain to the many that have enjoyed your donuts that we’ll be finding a...
Read moreAmazing Grocery Store! It’s like going to Whole Foods at King Soopers pricing. And about pricing - it’s way way cheaper than King Soopers for almost every regular weekly item I buy. Not sure what other people who complained about pricing are buying - but I make weekly spreadsheets and Woods beats out King Soopers on price and quality on organic produce, fish from the deli, and most dairy and bakery items (not all but most).
I have seen a few negative reviews that aren’t even about the actual store - one one-star review was clearly from a person whose ego wasn’t significantly massaged by a manager to feel “important” or something — which just seems like a silly thing to post. I wish there was a way to respond to them directly and say you’re not as important as you seem to think you are. Grow up and stop acting like the world should think you’re special. You aren’t.
This is the only store I can go to close to me where workers aren’t constantly in my way stocking things or worse - having personal conversations while ignoring people who need assistance or staring at their phones. Just for that reason alone - it blows King Soopers out of the water.
The store employees at Woods (also called Cast Members like at Disney) are very attentive - and the few I have spoken with love working for Woods - so the company culture seems very on point.
They carry all the things - including hard to find items like Whataburger Spicy Ketchup and Blue Bottle and Ozo Coffee.
And did I mention the live music on Saturdays? Very cool and has turned grocery shopping into impromptu date nights for my husband and I on more than one occasion.
Love Woods and hope they do well here and open...
Read moreDropped in to check it out while I'm the area. I will say the specialty area of the store is fantastic, nicely laid out, and the selections looked very appetizing. I went home with a sushi sandwich, tasty, and sort of novel. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't really much more interesting than other grocery store sushi. I think the hot offerings seemed a bit more unique, as well as the brew pub. What I found disappointing was the produce and cheese specialty area, it was beautiful, but seemed stocked as an afterthought. Very few interesting or local cheeses despite having a fantastic area to showcase them. The produce seemed less than fresh, and somewhat understocked. Very little in the way of local, and the organic section was nearly non-existent. I'm hoping that this was due to it not being ready for the opening maybe? The regular grocery section had decent to good selections, even some pantry items that can be difficult to find elsewhere, the pricing did seem a bit high however, to their credit I was able to find more local selections. I'll check back again-once local farms are producing more. With the tariffs, hard to say what the future holds, but I'll update of things looks different. All in all, was...
