The “good”: One star is extremely generous for my experience. Where to start with this circus… First off I’ll say the check in was simple enough if a bit slow. No complaints there. They gave me a door about 3-4 hours early. And had me loaded within 2 hours of my appointment. That’s the only “positive” about this place because the negative is so outrageous that these bottom tier acceptable industrial averages seem awesome.
The BAD: This place has the most outrageously inept employees I’ve ever seen.
Firstly, they tell you to drive back to the guard shack when the light turns green which is fine. But, when I got there after my green light all the sudden apparently the entire warehouse went on break, and the people who are supposed to send the paperwork to the guard-shack hadn’t done so to mine nor the other drivers. So we have a line at the guard shack all waiting for paperwork to come in after we’ve already activated our clocks again because we got the green light to leave. I waited 1hr 32minutes at the guard shack wasting my clock because my split had already been activated waiting in the door before.
The yard dog was sitting in the middle of the intersection where you enter and exit for the doors playing on his phone. He noticed me waiting as another driver creeped around him I gave the right of way to. Then looks back at his phone and slowly creeps forward putting himself further in my way and stopping while continuing on his phone.
They loaded me 36,260 on my drives and 16,240 on my trailer in hole 1. I don’t know how it’s even possible to mess it up this badly besides it being intentional.
2 of the pallets they loaded were the wrong product so on this light load they not only couldn’t get the weight even remotely distributed but they couldn’t even figure out the right product to load.
Additionally, it’s a closed door situation so you can’t verify anything before you leave. They stole my brand new load locks and threw in a lot of broken load locks that I’ll need...
Read moreThis place joins the category of “Horrible” places to pick up at. Don’t get me wrong, the bathroom is real nice and they even have a shower (if you willing to walk the half mile to the Shipping and Recieving office near dock B83) due to the fact that you’ve burned your clock waiting. Please be nice to the custodian, she does a real nice job and is very pleasant to speak with. However, she is not there to answer weather your load is ready or not so leave her alone!! You call the numbers writtten on the piece of paper which is taped to the window instead to find that out. Don’t plan of talking to anyone really face to face, it all over the phone and 99% of the time you won’t be able to understand what the person is saying due to background noise. Employees here, besides the lovey custodian, are very rude and must not be happy with their lives and they will take pleasure in making your life just as miserable if your a driver. This place makes me rethink my profession as an OTR truck driver to be honest. If you think your going to be on time for your nice appointment, and you stop here before that appointment, your sorely mistaken. The place is clean and it’s the only reason I’ll give it 2 stars, other than that, this place sucks. It’s also shouldn’t be a surprise as it’s located in Joilet the toilet...
Read moreI was in and out for a drop and hook. I spent an hour out there as I wished the signage was a little more well lit, but I managed. Also had a screwed up trailer, not the shipper’s fault. Guard shack was friendly and nice. The only thing I didn’t like was one having my paperwork handled by a guard who was eating while doing my paperwork. Any way I just wanted to say, you CAN reach the facility by I-80. Here’s how: From I-80 WB, take exit 132. At the end of the ramp turn right onto US 52. It’s going to look scary with the underpasses, but they are 14’. Go about 2ish miles and take a right onto Laraway. You’ll see a pilot on your left and another truck stop on your right. Follow Laraway until it ends in 3 miles. Turn left onto Centerpoint. Cedar Creek will be on your right in about 2-3 miles, I believe. There are signs. Hard to see at night, but it’s going to be at a traffic...
