Hibachi with Us — Local services in Jonesboro

Someday Google should offer the ability to give ZERO stars. I booked a reservation online on 10.23.24 for my daughter's 11th Birthday Party that was Hibachi and Henna themed. The party was on 11.02.24 at 7pm. I received a confirmation email from Hibachi with Us for that date and time. Several days before the party, I received another email asking if I would change the time to 8pm. I replied that wouldn't really work as this was a party for 10-11 year old kids coming straight from dance practice (5 hours) and that the party ended at 9pm (the hibachi event was scheduled to be 1.5 hours). However, I agreed to push it to 7:30pm. Then the day of the event, I received a call in the early afternoon confirming my 7:30 time but stating they would be late. I told them this was not was we agreed upon and was told they would offer $50.00 off and be there no later than 7:45pm. I should have trusted my gut at this point and figured something else out. But, I trusted they would follow through. However, around 7pm I received another call that the chef was stuck at another event and wouldn't make it until after 8pm. Clearly they didn't allow enough time between events and knew this from the original booking as they had already tried to push my event later. With the party ending at 9pm and a chef who wouldn't arrive until after 8 there was no way this would work any longer. I was left with a houseful of hungry kids and a very sad birthday girl who was really looking forward to this experience. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company. They knew they had not allowed appropriate time between events, kept trying to push my time to accommodate this, and then waited until we couldn't arrange for any other option to inform us they would be too late to have the event. I recently hosted a hibachi event at my home to celebrate a joint occasion: Mother’s Day and my grandson’s birthday. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations in several key areas.

Inadequate Staffing: For a group of our size, it was unreasonable to send only one chef to handle all cooking, serving, and entertainment. The result was slow service and cold food, particularly the rice and noodles, which sat too long before the protein was served. A more appropriate staffing plan should have been in place for a large party.

Miscommunication with Food Orders: I ordered dumplings specifically for certain guests, but the chef assumed they were for everyone and began distributing them to the entire group without checking. When I stopped him to explain, I was told that no extras had been brought and nothing could be done. This could have easily been avoided with better communication or by confirming before serving.

Unprofessional Behavior Over Gratuity: We were told multiple times that tipping was suggested but not mandatory. Based on that, guests contributed what they felt comfortable giving. The chef began to complain about the amount received. In an effort to resolve the situation, I personally contributed additional money, but he continued to express dissatisfaction. We recently hosted a private hibachi dinner at our home, and WOW — it was an absolute showstopper thanks to the incredible Chef Aden. From the moment he arrived, the energy, professionalism, and charisma he brought into our space were unmatched.

Chef Aden transformed our backyard into a five-star teppanyaki experience. The flames, the tricks, the jokes — he had us laughing, clapping, and cheering the entire time. And the food? Out of this world. Every bite was perfectly cooked, seasoned to perfection, and served with style. The fried rice was dangerously good, the chicken melted in our mouths, and the shrimp were cooked just right with that signature hibachi flair.
