Convenient, clean, organized grocery store. Shopping options are limited in this area. My partner and I shop here when visiting his nearby farm. As a permanent resident of Florida, grocery shopping and stores are quite different in this part of the world. Fortunately, this store is what I consider "normal" in size. The size is reminiscent of the grocery stores I remember from the1970s and 1980s. This is NOT a Super Center, mega box store (and I'm not complaining!) Compared to the few competitors in the area (except Wal-Mart), the store, although not new, is the most modern and updated. My last visit was New Years Eve 2021, and the store was well stocked and organized. Considering it's "normal " size, it has a decent selection and quantity of many items. My partner and I shop here for the basics; convenience items and "staples. " Unfortunately, I don't have any experience (so I will not include in my review) with the quality and quantity of the fruits, vegetables, meats and poultry. One the best features of this store is the Convenient location. Located on the four lane (Hwy 58), just west of downtown Jonesville. The store has never been crowded during my visits. It's super easy to get in and out quickly. If you're in the area and need a grocery store, I highly suggest Grabeel IGA. Now......if you're not concerned with the Covid pandemic, you may STOP READING NOW. However, if you are concerned about Covid and try to stay healthy, as my partner and I do, please be aware there are few (if any??) safety protocols in place here and generally no one wearing a mask. You must remember this area is in the heart of the "Land of Denial!" and low vaccination rates. Of course, my partner and I always wear masks. During my last visit I saw only one employee and one customer wearing a mask. Therefore, when shopping here (or anywhere in this region) remember to take a mask and establish your own...
Read moreNever buy meat or vegetables from this location. As a former inspector, the cleaning practices of this location are not up to local board safety and health regulations. From personal experience, the vegetables are always either rotten or not ripe enough.
The hot food/kitchen either ranges from undercooked chicken to burnt to a crisp. I expect southern people to know how to cook better than this. Although the boys will bring your groceries out for you, they are not friendly and come across as rather strange. Almost like the Darlings from Andy Griffith.
The older man who occasionally works there doesn't say two words if he doesn't know you. A few of the ladies are nice but it feels forced and ingenuine. The main reason for stopping here is convenience and it is less crowded. So, take what you wish from this. They'll always have their customers, it just could be better if the...
