I visited Creepywoods tonight with a 7:30pm ticket in hand and spooky season excitement in my heart. We were in line by 7:19pm, ready, punctual, and prepared to scream. Unfortunately, we werenāt let in until 8:00pm. And no, that wasnāt part of the scare.
To their credit, Creepywoods is easy to find. Parking was plentiful and well-directed. They offered food, snacks, cozy bonfires, and fun photo ops. The atmosphere had promise.
But the line? A horror of its own.
There are two lines: General Admission with timed tickets, and VIP, which apparently lets people show up whenever. But VIP wasnāt the issue, management was. The woman running the line was new (her first night), and while she was sweet and professional, she was left with no real plan to manage flow between the two lines. Her only instruction? Scan tickets, explain the rules, and send people in, one group at a time.
The General Admission line came to a complete standstill. We were third in line and still watched VIPs who arrived later go in first. When asked if she could alternate, she apologized and said she was just following orders.
The delay wasnāt her fault, it was poor leadership. She was doing her best, but no new employee should be left to manage two growing lines with no support or strategy. It was frustrating to experience, and even more frustrating to witness.
As for the forest, it lasted about 28ā30 minutes and leaned heavily on darkness for atmosphere. But the props, while impressive in size, were disappointing in execution. Many of them didnāt light up or activate at all. So walking into structures with massive non-functioning props in pitch blackness kind of defeated the purpose. The environment was already dark, it needed moments of intentional reveal or animation to build suspense. Otherwise, youāre just⦠stumbling in the dark, surrounded by what feels like Halloween storage.
The scares were repetitive, with multiple similar mazes and the same style of jump scare reused throughout. As for the actors, they were about a 5 out of 10. Itās hard to rate costumes or makeup when you canāt see them. Most of the scares came from them jumping out of corners, not from any immersive performance. However, the performer in the ādead body partsā section was a clear 10 out of 10, committed, genuinely creepy, and backed by a well-designed set that made his scene the undeniable highlight of the night.
Creepywoods has potential, but it needs stronger direction. Better staff training, functioning props, and more immersive performances could turn it into something great. Until then, the scariest thing might...

I revisited Creepy Woods on October 31st to see if the experience improved. Fortunately, the experience was much better the second time around. This time there was a bonfire, a picnic table area, multiple photo booths with large props, a small merchandise area, and they were giving away small pumpkins to each guest. The line was much better managed for general, speed pass, and VIP pass. The trail itself contained a lot more props and actors than before. A few things keep me from giving this attraction five stars:
-Although there was a picnic area, there was no food truck or any food options that I could see; -The trail is not very long (about 15 minutes at an average walking pace); -There could be more actors throughout the haunted trail.
Based on this experience, I can recommend Creepy Woods for those looking for a haunted trail.

Creepy woods in White Marsh, MD was not a good experience. Tried to buy tickets on site. Itās cash only and no ATMs available. I waited in a very short line for 40 minutes. After 30 minutes in line, a worker came out to say the haunted trail was not running at full capacity and they were short staffed. Although they offered free tickets to use for a future date, they said to come back in 2-3 weeks. The website advertises two haunts, which is misleading as they are connected with no distinction. There is one food truck, which is at least something going for it. There are two places to take photos with creatures in the waiting area. For $35 a ticket ($40 with service fee), go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I took the opportunity to visit Creepywoods 10/30/2013. We arrived @6:45 and were told they weren't open yet and they were waiting for change, that they'd be open shortly. Around 7:15 they started selling the tickets and were told where to go to get in line. While waiting for the tickets as well as standing in line it was clear the Woods were not ready yet. People were taking equipment down, lighting the torches and getting things ready. We finally were able to get started at 7:45 and were told it was about 40-45 minutes to get through. The props were good but there weren't enough characters at site to do a very good job for a fright night. Some areas had none. At one point one of the workers came up to my husband wanted to know if he worked at Sam's! NO! he does not. It only took about 30 minutes at a stretch to get through and was disappointing at best. No wonder they have a NO REFUNDS on their sign as it was not worth the $20.00 p/p and certainly not with paying the additional $10..00 for a speed pass. Went to Field of Screams and was scared to...
