Captain Steve of AHA was such an amazing whale watching tour guide and boat captain. Attention to details + kindness. From the moment you start interacting with Steve to arrange your whale adventure tour you know you made the right decision. Steve's knowledge of the water, the animals, the surrounding nature is unreal. You can sense this man loves where he lives and loves what he does. During my tour we were not disappointed -- we found several whales to watch (and learn about) plus stellar sea lions and other things. The boat was a real nice size - very personal and not crowed where you are having to fight over others for pictures, questions to be answered, etc. Thank you Captain Steve for a great afternoon out on the water. Our family was so excited to go on our first whale watch. So many other reviews from Facebook's various Alaska cruises info talked about how they didnt see any whales or they were so far away it wasn't worth it; well let me tell you we saw them many times over that day. Both Orcas and their babies to Humpbacks and their babies! They came so close to our boat even with Capt Steve being so careful to keep the distance required by law. I tell you he is a whale whisperer. He knew all the spots to look and had so much passion talking about the whales. He has so much knowledge about them. Our trip with captain Steve and Alaska Humpback Adventures was nothing short of amazing! Captain Steve was very accommodating to our family of four which includes two younger children. From start to finish the process was smooth and all details handled with ease by this company. We saw so many orcas and humpback whales throughout the entire trip and also other wildlife like sea lions/seals. The boat was spacious and well stocked with blankets, binoculars and snacks.
