If you are using the star guide to make decisions about visiting the course, I would like to make a comment about the person who left one star rating below (Jared King).
I am a longtime member at Dubs Dread. I have seen how other courses are maintained and run. Without debate Dubs Dread is run and maintained by some of the best in the business.
Jared's comments below have a few factual issues to be kind.
The group he mentioned as playing 6, was not a group of 6 players. 4 players with 2 simply tagging along with other members.
No one jumped in front of his group, there was a tournament earlier and a full open course in front of a handful of groups. We jumped ahead of the other groups to open holes with multiple open holes behind us.
Jared group did not tee off until almost 3PM, with that said the last cart turned in was well before daylight ended, anyone can do that math
My only point here is, before you leave a negative rating for a business that goes out of their way on a regular basis to make people feel welcome and attempts to earn their repeat business, at least call and talk to the General Manager(Again, one of the best in the business) Also, when you play at a rate that is less than half the norm for that day of week, expect some delays .
So Jared, I would suggest contacting the club, discuss your issues and I predict that your concerns will be heard and a compromise could be reached. A win win for everyone instead of leaving a comment that cant be removed for a business that goes above and beyond to make every...
Read more15 year KC resident. Finally made the trek. Was blown away. Traditional 60's architecture especially on front 9 and late back- lots of sloping, trees, etc
Almost all greens have some elevation in front, hard to run it up.
Two par 4s on each side long and tough. Play Tips? All you want and more.
Staff was great, Bluetooth on all carts. My pace of play was at 350, with an 0800 weekday tee time.
Given time of year, rough brutal. We have had a ton of rain but felt course was in great shape. Big greens, lots of undulations, some very subtle.
Strength in my mind is the par 3s. Great holes. Good "framing" on all holes. Small downside is maybe 3 blind tee shots and 2 blind second shots... speed of play challenge...
As noted on many reviews, some of the most wallet friendly prices I have seen in 19th hole- wow.
Highly recommend. Especially if you are a visitor staying in Legends area
My past semi public gold standard was Ironhorse in Leawood. ...
Read moreThe buddies and I just finished a golf trip in the KC area and we will FOR SURE be coming back to Dubs. The clubhouse staff, bartenders, cart girls, and course was absolutely phenomenal!!! We were a 5some so most courses wouldn't touch us even though we were scrambling but this course was more than accommodating my outside request they basically said "make sure to keep pace of play!" which we made sure we did. This is one of the best courses for the money that I have ever played. Do yourself a favor and get your buddies out on the course to have a GREAT time. Course plays well for the high handicaps along with the low handicaps and is challenging yet not crazy hard for all golfers! 2nd cut can be a bit rough finding your ball but I credit that to not being able to get it mowed for the couple days leading up due to 2+ inchs of rain. I cant say enough about everyone at this course. Well Done Dubs! We will see...
