Today, my wife, 75 years old, disabled, and desperate to use their restroom after a long drive from Kapaa, asked the cashier, a very unfriendly young woman, if she could possibly make an exception to their “No public restrooms” policy and allow her to void. This rude, ugly, unsympathetic clerk just repeated, “No public restrooms!!” This after my wife had already made $11.08, plus an inexplicable 0.87 added “service charge” - just a rip off. The new owners of the Wailua Country Store are doing an AMAZING job. In a very short time, they've turned it from a place you had to go to because you ran out of something and it was nearby into a place you WANT to shop at. They're super friendly, the staff is amazing, tons of local stuff like beef, breads, honey, produce, grab and go food, toiletries, etc... A really great beer, wine and liquor selection. Can’t believe I used to drive by this place without going inside. Their delicious turkey basil sandwiches, bacon breakfast burritos, and homemade local treats have become a staple in my life. Not to mention how awesome it is to nab everyday items I need without having to go all the way down the hill. It’s super clean and adorable and the staff is extra nice and friendly....
