I’m going to start by saying the course (we played South) was easily a 4 or even 4.5 star. Conditions were great. But for me, customer service is a priority, and that’s where Brentwood dropped the ball for me.
My two sons and I used the Brentwood website to schedule our tee time a couple of days before. We showed up with a confirmation email from Club Caddie (the service Brentwood uses to schedule online tee times) showing three players playing 18 holes with a cart at $72 each. When we checked in we were told it would be $78 each. I showed him the confirmation and the $72 pricing, and he just looked at me and said it is $78. It did not matter that I had their own confirmation with a lower price at all!
In the end, $18 is not the end of the world for us, so we payed and played. But I don’t know if I will go back. They had an opportunity to do the right thing and honor their own confirmation and earn a customer, but instead they chose to dig in and insist on making that extra $18.
Again, the course was nice, but there is no shortage of nice courses around, most with better customer service. Shattuck for example is not far away and we have always had a great...

Definitely different styles of play between the South and North. The south requires more thought on club selection off the tee, and your good round could be destroyed when finishing on 17 (narrow par 4 with a long stretch of hazards) and 18 (very long par 4 that requires a bombed tee shot). On the North, it's harder to capitalize on 2 of 4 par 5's. 2 is a tough green to hold, and the super narrow 7th green, blind upon approach, is even harder to hold. But if you're having a good round past 15, it's hard to screw up the last three. Also, please fix ball marks and let singles play...

Then got inside and had to deal with course manager " Chuck " who is completely rude and unprofessional. Giving myself and my other players attitude at a charity golf outing. When I suggested to him that things could be done differently he told me "go away or I'll call the police" . Typical lack of customer service and inability to be flexible. Great layout for a course... if only it was well managed.
