Overpriced. Poor quality. Overly crowded. Unsanitary. Terrible customer service. They don’t even make their own cider!
The lady making the donuts touched her cell phone with her dirty gloves then stuck her hand right in the donuts. Never changed gloves or washed her hands. By that point we were on our way out and had already paid. Donuts went into the bin. Yuck! I reported to the manager who informed me that they have different health code standards and this wasn’t an issue. So apparently it’s acceptable to not wash their hands? I mean I’m not a germaphobe but those hands were touching everything and then she would touch each donut as she had to roll them all in sugar. I mean it was nasty. Cashier and donut makers were unfriendly on top of it. No organization and they were not directing anyone where to go or what to do to place an order. Other customers were asking me what to do and I had to explain the process to other confused customers. I felt like an employee. It was just chaos. They finally took our order and we asked for a dozen donuts and they gave us only 6. Went back for the other 6 and the gal apologized but the cashier said she had to charge me per bag… so for each set of 6 rather than 1 dozen… 🥴. She smirked and was so passive aggressive offering to get the manager that wejust paid the full price and left to avoid further confrontation. We had our kiddo with us so wanted to make it a good experience as possible. Kiddo was ready to leave as soon as we walked in. Lol. Not a place for kids that’s for sure. It was so crowded we were all elbow to elbow and you couldn’t even move in the shop. I wish the fire Marshall would have walked in. The setup is so bad it made it unenjoyable to shop. They also carry many products that you can find elsewhere for about half the cost so not worth the hassle.
We had a similar experience 2 years but wanted to give it another shot. We won’t be back.
I also learned that apparently they buy their apple cider and don’t make it in house? I heard they buy it from Bauman Farms in bulk and re-label and sell it as their own. I don’t know if this is true but I wrote the farm a message on FB asking them and haven’t heard back. Either way, $10 for a jug of cider is...
Read moreE.Z orchards is usually the highlight of my family's year, next to getting a Christmas tree. This year, a couple of things detracted from the experience.
My sister and I waited over 20mins in the line for donuts, bought two dozen, and when I got out to my car I realized we were only given 8 of the apple cider. I hauled-tail back to the store, the ladies in line were nice enough to part for me, and I explained what happened. It was less than two minutes later. One of the workers took my bag, looked at it, and dropped donuts in. I figured she'd given me the right amount the second time, but alas: I was given ten.
To be clear: I'm not upset with the workers. They were really busy, and it was super crowded in there. But, either the workers were confused about what a dozen was (which means a bunch of people were getting shortchanged), didn't trust me (which isn't good customer service) or were short on dough and were cutting amounts in everyone's dozens to maximize profits...which- yeah, not cool, just sell half-dozens.
And secondly: most families are off on weekends, and don't have a lot of money to throw around. It's unfortunate that an $8 admit charge is required to get into the area where the pumpkins are, during the two days when families are most able to come.
...I still love the atmosphere, your fresh produce, and the farm itself...but please, make sure you're giving your employees the breaks, training, and supplies to properly fill dozens when people pay for dozens (or at least to only accept half-dozens when you're running low), and consider having one day of the weekend without that admit...
Read moreWe took a family get together of 20 people to E Z Orchards as they are very close to my grandparents. We went into the store to buy some of the home made doughnuts, cider, and different breads. My wife who was waiting in line finally got to her turn and the elderly checker yelled at her in front of everyone "did you just cut in line?!" This took my wife by total surprise and she answered no, to which the lady again yelled I think you just cut in line, as she was ringing her up. My wife replied I'm not a rude person like that and now you can give me my change and I won't be back. Once the lady realized she was wrong and my wife said she wouldn't be back she grumbled one last unintelligible thing at her. So I went and asked for the boss....the boss was just as grumpy, did not apologize for her, nor make her apologize. He did nothing but make excuses for her and state that we have to realize they have had a really long busy month. There are way too many farms around here to be treated like that, Next year we are...
