Staying at the fabulous Nonantum resort in Kennebunkport, we were allowed to make a Tee Time at Cape Arundel. With Cart it was $185 on Monday 9/26, we looked forward to a great day. The course is in impeccable condition and very challenging despite the relatively short yardage yet our experience was very negative. Upon arrival we were informed that the Driving range was not available to us as we were not members...no apologies.. just rudely saying it was unavailable to us. Then upon teeing off, we mentioned we had never played the course we were informed by the starter that there is "zero" signage guiding you from green to the next Tee Box...and that we were lucky there were members playing ahead of us and that we should just follow them...just matter of fact.... Then upon seeing only white flags on the pins on the green, we asked the group ahead of us what was up? they said only GPS' with lasers would guide you to pin placements... and that they did not have Blue/White/Red flags to designate.. Thus with only GPS' providing you yardage to the front/middle back of the green...it was challenging especially given the very challenging undulations on the greens. At the end of the day, $185 you just felt felt unwelcome. The Next day we played Dutch Elm and the experience was 10 times better. At $64 per round with a cart, we were given yardage books and the course/hole signage, and routing between holes was excellent and what you would expect. The course layout was as good as Arundel and the conditions were excellent... So in summary...just disappointed in the experience at...
Read moreWas expecting a lot more quality with the price of this course. The fairways were rock solid and couldn’t take a divot. The course is extremely short and lacks challenge other than some tricky pin placements. There is no restaurant, bar, or anything of the sorts on the premises. Yes, the staff was very nice, but that doesn’t make up for $185 greens fees for a course that is no where near worth half of that. I’ve played nicer courses in New England and New York for $60 than this. This is hands down the most overrated course I’ve ever played in my 30 years of golfing. Looking for a much nicer course in maine? Play the ledges or dunegrass. The only downside of those two other courses is George bush is not a member to drive the hype and cost up. Very disappointed with...
Read morePlay this course many times and just recently played it again. I would say that the course conditions were good. They were not great. The courses very challenging with postage stamp greens that are not flat. I would also say that I played here in a MSGA 🏌️‍♂️⛳️ event and other than that, I probably wouldn’t play there because the fees I believe are like $185 to play there which is absolutely ridiculous and this course is not worth $85 to play there. It is a public course but they treat it like a private course. in the course does not feature any kind of bar restaurant nothing this Course is not worth what they charge in based on the conditions in the amenities I would say a very fair price for this course...
