As a life long patron of the GRB General Store, I had mixed feelings (initially) about the new look and feel under the new ownership. While I have long since grown fond of the current evolution of this cherished store, and amused by the clientele struggling to adapt to a cash free experience, I must say this mornings visit renewed my vows on my love affair with this store.
I showed up for a specific item (GF Cinnamon Swirl loaf) that was not in stock, and was treated to a custom delivery of my item, brought over from a different location, just for me in time to pick it up (after morning tennis).
It felt truly like a General Store experience should feel. The white glove service was noted and appreciated....
Read moreThis store has been a staple of the GRB community ever since I was a kid and is great that it’s been taken over by the successful company Mornings in Paris from the port. While some have left negative reviews on some of the changes undergone by new mgmt, it’s only the first year and are probably just working out the kinks. The addition of great coffee and pastries is awesome but would love to see some of the classics come back that made the store so special to begin with.. such as fresh made to order subs, bfast sandwiches and great pizza slices. Read moreThe store is a beach staple but the new owners refuse to give the community what they want - THE OLD MUFFINS. These muffins were known all around kennebunkport and requested by guests and renters. If we wanted Morning in Paris muffins, we’d go there.
The store tries to feel like an upscale bakery on one side, but then changed the market part into a gas station selection on the other.
