What a great place to get a passport! Because this is one of the few places in the Grand Rapids-area where you don't need an appointment to get a passport, I expected a wait; because it's a government entity, I also expected to have some sort of bureaucratic troubles; I couldn't have been more wrong. The passport counter is just steps inside the door; we were served immediately, with friendly, patient service. Some of our documents needed photocopies, which the clerk copied for us at no additional charge rather than sending us elsewhere. I also noticed that if you need a passport photo, the charge is $10, rather than the $15 many other places charge. While I can't speak to Kentwood City Hall's other services, I highly recommend going here for a passport.
