My review is long but if you’re really considering surgery and need to make an informed decision then I hope this helps!
Booking process: Chef Vicky was very responsive and made it easy to book. I liked that she sent out a reminder to pay for the remaining balance.
Getting there: the recovery house was a short distance from the airport. At the time, it cost me $11 to Uber from her place to MIA airport. I took rented a car before my surgery just to get around and she had free parking. There’s Starbucks, a few pharmacies and other stores near her place. It’s not walking distance but it’s really close by.
Room and board: super clean, organized, neat, and very comfortable. I didn’t for once feel like I was intruding on someone else’s home. For the record, I am very introverted and don’t really like to be around people however chef Vicky and her team were amazing professionals and I felt I had my privacy as well as support when I needed it during my most vulnerable moments.
Food& drinks: you can have unlimited drinks, coffee & teas, smoothies that she makes for you! Liquid iv drinks, pineapple juice, all kinds of variety! There’s ice and she provides basically everything. Her food is AMAZING to say the least. She just has talent and knowledge on how to pair ingredients. I had a BBL and needed to have a certain diet for healing and recovery and she made sure that I got what I needed. She was incredibly attentive and intuitive to my needs on days where I couldn’t describe what I was feeling due to recovering from surgery and she just took care of me and my companion.
Her team: there were RNs and CNAs there to take care of us. I loved that she only takes a few patients at once. I felt very well taken care of. I felt so cared for my by nurse Amber. She took care of me fresh out of surgery. She was so kind and gentle and patient. The next nurse Theo was patient as well and she did my IV to make sure I got a boost with my road to healing. Best decision ever. She was so sweet she helped show me how to use the toilet (which seems basic but there’s a new way to do daily living things after surgery). Nurse Theo did not once make me feel weird or uncomfortable. She also advocated for me when 305 plastic surgery wouldn’t give me my antibiotics. Our other nurse Letoya was heaven sent. She really went above and beyond with chef Vicky to bring me to get me my medications and waited with me, they didn’t have to do anything extra but they did so much that I couldn’t have done alone. They helped me with picking out my faja which isn’t even included in their package. Nurse Letoya took care of me and taught me how to take care of myself I can’t thank her enough. Chef Vicky not only cooked delicious meals but she really is a joy to be around. She made me feel at home and prepared me mentally. I love these ladies. I also had massages by Ray, who is a man but he is incredibly gentle, professional, and very nice. He made me look & feel better with the massages. I highly recommend them!!! Overall, definitely worth...
Read moreOkay so where do I start…. From the time I walked into this to the time it end was completely amazing and phenomenal! Walking into this place exactly was like home. I knew that with me staying at a recovery place it had to feel Exactly the way I would wanna feel at home. And the experience was just that. Vicky was so nice and sweet, the most kindest caring person you could ever wanna meet. The food she made was absolutely amazing down to favors and different meals. Not to mention I never once felt bad eating anything because the way it was made with love I knew it was just the healthy foods I needed for my recovery. As for care they pretty much waited on me hand and foot. They took very good care and close watch on me to the point I was up and going the same day as if I hadn’t gotten any Procedure done. Like everything was on point with this place I have absolutely nothing but good things to say. They even made my husband feel like home. Everything was clean and rooms where just what I hope for. And if I do it again this will be exactly where I will stay again. Thank you so much for making my recovery so easy and amazing! If your bringing a partner or friend be sure to book her Companion room. Absolutely great to...
Read moreI stayed with the lovely host Chef Vicky @sxkitchen from Sept 28 to Oct 9. & I loved every minute of it. I’m so happy that I chose to stay with her rather than choosing to stay in a recovery home. I was able to have my own comfy room & was provided delicious meals, snacks & drinks throughout the day . In fact, that’s the main reasons why I chose to stay at @sxkitchen. I was able to have my own space and not have to worry about food ! & my expectations were met and beyond ! The home was very clean and had a homey vibe which made healing perfect to stay in.
I came in from Canada & was there on my own for the most part . Chef Vicky ,her CNA Amber @ & my now surgery sister that I met there made my stay 100% times better. Vicky is such a welcoming & kind individual. It felt like I’ve known her forever and made it feel like I was staying with a bunch of friends, instead of suffering trying to heal somewhere else.
I really do recommend her services while looking for anything dealing with recovery/ meal preps....
