Maryam is a beautiful human and an exceptional yoga teacher. I came to her after a two-year, pandemic-induced hiatus from my 20+ year practice. My body and mind were both desperate for a return to yoga, and Maryam has turned out to be exactly the right person to gently guide me home to my mat. Each time we meet, she checks in about how I’m feeling, my energy level, and what I have on the docket for the days to come. She then crafts a practice focused on my particular needs that day, always changing things up and keeping it interesting. In the months we’ve worked together, I’ve seen improvements in strength, mobility, and mood — and I’ve also learned a ton about alignment and about my own body through her teaching. Without exception, every session with her has given me exactly what I needed in that moment and I always leave feeling better than when I arrived. My only wish is that there will be opportunities to attend larger group classes with her in future. I've fallen in and out of yoga over the past decade due to instructors pushing me to do things my body simply would not do, or just creating a strange atmosphere where I didn't feel comfortable in my practice.
Not so with Maryam - through observation of how your body behaves in poses, Maryam is able to assess where you can get with your practice over time and not with immediacy. There is no pressure to force yourself to perform at high octane when you're exhausted from your week, etc. as she checks in at the beginning of each class to see where you are physically and mentally, which really has benefited me.

She does a fantastic job of personalizing each yoga session to what your body needs most that day, factoring in your energy level and any physical limitations. I came to Studioe with minimal yoga experience and serious doubts about what my body could do. Fast-forward 8 months, and I'm now able to do poses like headstands that I thought only a well-seasoned yogi could pull off.
