I am writing to share my deep concerns and disappointment regarding the quality of care provided at your facility. It is with great regret that I must express my strong recommendation against sending a loved one to your facility based on the experiences my mother and I have had.
When we first selected your facility for my mother's short-term care, we were assured that there was a dedicated floor for both short-term and long-term stays. Specifically, I had requested that my mother be roomed with someone who required similar short-term care. However, on her first night, my mother was unable to get any sleep due to her roommate's constant calls for assistance, which were unfortunately neglected by the staff.
Upon visiting my mother on the second day of her stay, we were shocked to find an abundance of flies in her room. Additionally, we discovered that her lotion had gone missing, despite her being at the facility for only one night. The overall smell in her room was extremely unpleasant. I approached the staff at the front desk to inquire about bringing a candle or air freshener to alleviate the situation, but my request was ignored. Furthermore, when asking questions, the staff either stared blankly or pretended not to hear.
It was expected that there would be a meeting to discuss my mother's care within the first week of her admission. To my dismay, this meeting did not occur until two days prior to her discharge. This lack of communication and involvement in her care plan was disheartening and concerning.
Moreover, when my mother needed assistance and pressed the call button, no one responded promptly. The administration of her medication was consistently delayed, causing unnecessary stress and concern. Despite making numerous calls to inquire about her well-being, I never received a single call back from the facility.
Furthermore, I had requested transportation for my mother's scheduled doctor's appointment, but on the day of the appointment, no transportation arrived. I was left with no choice but to personally transport my mother to the appointment.
After her discharge, we faced additional challenges as none of the necessary paperwork to begin her physical therapy (PT) or occupational therapy (OT) was sent to the appropriate parties. Despite multiple attempts to contact the facility, the document we eventually received was incorrect and even had a forged signature of a doctor. It was later revealed that the doctor had never seen or signed that particular form.
I could continue to provide further instances that exemplify why I strongly advise against choosing your facility, but the list would be extensive. In summary, I implore you to reconsider sending anyone you care about to...
Read moreFirst I want to say I appreciate this facility being here for people such as myself needing rehabilitation after having surgery. I've only been here a week and a half and it's been wonderful environment to be in. I want to first give acknowledgment to my Occupational Therapists Teresa and Jim, as well as to my Physical Therapists Iyo, Doris, and Johnetta -- each of these people have been outstanding in instructing me in my therapy, but also in making me feel welcome here at Largo. They have been instrumental in teaching me good lessons that I will start using in my everyday living. My Speech Therapist DJ has been outstanding as well. He has taught me quite a lot of things that in general that I would have taken as being mediocre, but they are very important in my everyday life and I am very grateful for his lessons. Also, to my wonderful nurses and texts, Hilda, Saphie, Pam, Vivian, Willie, and Victoria, as well as all of the other nurses and texts that I have come in contact with and I don't remember their names, they all have been very professional, but friendly; easy to talk to; answers all of my questions and if they don't know the answers,, they will go find out the answers; kind; and each one of them have encouraged me positively in my rehabilitation.
There are two women of the Administrative Staff that I want to give special acknowledgment and thanks to -- Victoria and Michelle. These two women have not only welcomed me here, but they check on me to make sure that I am comfortable here, if I need anything and just being helpful and letting me know how this facility is run. The other members of the Administrative Staff have also been very helpful to me too.
I have been overwhelmingly please with the way I've been treated here, the rehabilitation I have received here and getting to know some of the other residents here. If you are ever in need of a nursing and/or a rehabilitation center to come to, I highly recommend Largo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, you won't regret coming here. They treat you like a decent human being, they care about your well-being and how best they can assist you in any way possible.

Read moreThe facility is always dirty and unkept. The lighting is horrible in my father’s room. The staff clearly does not offer their patients proper TLC. To be honest with you I feel like he is just laying in bed waiting to go to his final resting place. No one is actively treating him humanely on a daily basis. The blinds are filthy and never open. His items are misplaced. His television is never on and awkward placed in a position that no person would be even able to view. He doesn’t get taken outside to simply enjoy a nice day not even to the hallway to see other people. His teeth are literally decaying yet they claim a dentist has been attending to them. Absolute lie! When you ask unit managers for explanations or accountability they say they don’t know or blame it on another personnel. The managers never fix the problems nor do the ever follow up as promised. I’ve been asking for assistance to get my father out of this hell hole since I discovered him there and NO ONE HAS EVER ASSISTED ME AS PROMISED IN OUR CARE PLAN MEETINGS! The workers are usually gathered at the nursing station talking socially with one another. Which amazes me when there are a million and one things they could be doing to make Largo nursing home a better place for patients. They could start by washing the dirty stained walls, curtains, sheets, and bathing the patients. It absolutely stinks in there! These employees are not caregivers they are individuals simply there to get a check. Another thing is that my father shouldn’t be squeezed into a room of three tucked away in a corner and forgotten about when he requires so much help. The most unprofessional thing they do is call you after business hours about things like getting a flu shot. Have a little more respect. They have me thinking something is wrong with my father. This is a horrible nursing home and renovation will not help the real problem which the...
