My cousins had a table from Daniel's Amish Collection and loved it. When my wife and I bought our house purchasing a large table to have friends and family over was the only major furniture purchase that we made. We got the table delivered to our house two days before our open house. After the open house my wife and in-laws were washing and trying plates. A serving dish was placed on the table. A couple days later we noticed discolored rings on the table. Note, this wasn't a hot serving dish. A hand washed and dried plate sat on the table for a few hours. Daniel's Amish collection touts that it has a bar top finish. We paid extra for this finish. It is supposed to be able to take leaving a sweating glass or spill for days at a time.
The store we purchased the table through contacted Daniel's Amish Collection. They refused to do anything about the table saying it was caused by a hot dish. It was not, it simply was not. We were given a table with a bad coating. We could have purchased a table from many different stores. We paid several thousand dollars for this table because we were told it would last a lifetime and be a center of family meals and gatherings for years. It lasted two days. Two freaking days. It makes me ill just thinking about it and all the money we wasted. We don't even use the table at all for fear of putting in other marks.
Never buy anything from these people. They make a terrible product, and when they are confronted by their poor workmanship they shirk their responsibility and take your money. NEVER TRUST THEM. If I could give them negative...
Read moreI ordered a dresser from our local furniture store back in February. Initially I was told we would receive it in June, then due to Covid was bumped to July then to august then September. By July I was getting frustrated so I inquired again and was then told October. Ugh.. was my reaction. I could not cancel as this was a special order with an extra markup in price that I would lose if I canceled. Plus I loved the piece and really wanted it. So I patiently waited. Finally the furniture store called they were going to deliver, said will tomorrow work. I actually had a prior appointment but didn’t date say no so I made arrangements for someone to be at my house to sign for it. Well I came home to find this awful ribbing in the front and top of the dresser as well as pin holes. Immediately I went to the store showed pictures and they said they would let me know within 24 hours if anything could be done. I received a call stating they would swap it out and I could keep this one till the replacement comes. Thank God! I’m rather upset about it but it is what it is. I just hope the new piece is perfect. 1600. For this table is steep but I thought the quality would be worth it. That has...
Read moreOrdered a complete dining room set, table, chairs and a hutch. I waited 12 weeks for it to arrive and when it finally did, the whole set was poorly finished. I paid a premium price for what is marketed as handcrafted quality with the reputation of Amish workmanship. Unfortunately there is no quality control. The hutch stain did not come close to matching the table, it looked chocolate brown and blotchy, which was just the beginning of the issues. The table appeared nice from about 5 feet away, but up close you can clearly see planar/sander marks where they ran the top through a machine during production and never finish sanded the wood. There are hand sand marks going across the wood grain leaving scratches in the wood and poor stain uniformity. The table top had a split that was glued and left white cloudiness in the finish. The leaves in the table are matte to semi gloss and the rest of the table flat. On top of it all there is a hand print where the table was handled during stain application. This is an unfortunate situation and a premium price was paid for the product based on marketing claims that otherwise wouldn't have if I knew the low quality...
