⭐️Places you didn’t know about in Arizona!⭐️ I explored some cool spots along Route 66 a few weeks ago with my sister! As an Arizona native, I never really took the chance to explore Route 66! We made our way on the west route and stopped at a few unique places on our journey! We made stops at Giganticus Headicus, Hackberry General Store, and Seligman Grocery Market! All very instagrammable places! 🤩Have you been to any of these places?👀 Let me know down below! You can also be apart of the #RocktheRoute challenge! Go the @visit_arizona website to get your digital passport and check-in to enter to win cool prizes from the Arizona Office of Tourism and the Historic Route 66 Association! Spontaneous road trip and this was our first stop. Quirky, unique, historic old cars, an actual roadside phone and a friendly purple haired dude behind the counter! Really fun stop and great pictures. The owner and his wife are huge cat people who trap, spay and neuter feral cats in the Kingman area, this makes them a hero in my book. Neat little trinkets in the store but I wish they had more.....lol. I also loved the Gigantic Green Head. It has inspired me to add this feature to my latest mosaic design which includes the 1950's retro route 66 theme. Sure is more modernly made but ssshhhhhh, nobody needs to know. The metal abstract shaped cactus is seriously awesome though! Take you a few seconds looking at it to figure out what it is and then you go "WOW"!!!

I have to tell you I am really glad my family took this historic Route 66 detour on our way to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas! We could have saved 40 minutes by staying on the interstate but it was well worth the detour! It is a beautiful ride and this place and one other made was a great historic stop. The views on route 66 were beautiful, far better than the views from the interstate. I highly recommend yout take the road less traveled and see Historic Route 66!

So on our journey we seen this on the side of the road and of course my attention was piqued. I mean how could it not be. Unless you have been under a rock your whole life, the grounds are very Disney CARS inspired.

The large Headicus stands 14ft tall and was created by a local artist named Gregg Arnold, who originated from New Jersey. It was started in 2003 and completed in 2004. The statue is created out of wood, chicken wire, metal, styro-foam, and cement.

This side of the road attraction is in the Antares Road Visitor Center, complete with a store, art gallery, picnic area, and several other pieces of outdoor art. This place was originally the Kozy Corner Trail Park. ( hmmm, even the name is obvious ) In 2017 Arnold starting selling small replicas of Headicus after transforming the building into a gift shop.

Some of the other artworks on the grounds that have been created are a rocketship made out of a wooden sign , and a windmill that uses furniture from the 50's for the blades. Plus other really neat photo ops if you are creative enough.

Would recommend - pricing is free, plenty of parking. Just take a break out of your roadtrip and take in the idea of something that you've seen in the movies but now in person, that was actually inspired. When we were here the gift shop ect was closed, but the outside was...

Unique! Awesome Metal Art on grounds by artist/actor/film maker, Gregg Arnold. His book is available at this shop. Promotes, Contributes to our local community/registered non-profits/clubs. Historical area of Famous Route 66 with phenomenal view. Short distance from Kingman, Arizona. Great to see this location always go through positive betterment over our twelve years in the area. ALWAYS, ALWAYS a place to bring our visitors. Easy to get to!!! Easy to spot Giganticus. Cold drinks and frozen items to cook ones self during our Summer weather. Light meal items now available too. Disadvantage, mirror in bathroom too bloody high for short-ytis. Perhaps a small one on back of door would help us shorties. (In gest). Staff is knowledgeable and genuine...
