This was an AMAZING experience! I went there years ago with a very special lady. It was right after they had a rodeo. We camped in the woods and the port-o-potties NEEDED to be cleaned and when (2 days later) the guy came to change them, he looked like he had been bathing in the liquid... However, it offered humor to us AND forced me to exercise and either walk, bike or RUN!! to the bathroom a half mile away.
If I have not scared you and you keep reading, The Food was second to none. A kitchen staff that treated you like family. Every meal was well placed and satisfying. The steaks and meats varied in flavor and design but were scrumptious! I believe we enjoyed over 18 hours in the saddle that week and experienced riding the way it should be: open and free. We saw nature, a full range of wildlife indigenous to the area and rode through tranquil paths leading across rivers and an abandoned town.
If you are NOT an experienced rider then the hours in the saddle WILL leave you saddle sore so bring extra clothes. My ex was tiny with no, saddle of her own so she stuffed her clothes to cushion herself. I however was perfectly fine. At the end of each day you will have earned the saddle sore and wear it with pride.
They had I think 450 acres and were against the Allegheny State Forest of like 400,000 acres and we rode in there whenever allowed. So by now, they must have longer rides and better tours for those true cowboys and cowgirls.
The owners, the leads, the staff were excellent and I have dreamed of returning since then. God bless you, them and enjoy...
Read moreI had the surf and turf on hot stones. OMG, it was FANTASTIC!! I had never had a meal like it before or since. Your meat comes out on a hot lava rock, and you continue to your meat to your specifications. If you want your steak rare, don't keep it on the stone. Move it to the side. Or if you want it well done, just keep cooking it on all sides and cutting it in bite-sized pieces. You can also pick 2 dipping sauces for the meat. I got cocktail sauce for the surf and garlic butter for turf and to put on the baked potato that I also ordered. Best meal ever. I would go back if I'm ever...
Read moreRestaurant in the middle of nowhere. It was the best surprise ever. This place is a full horse ranch. The restaurant has a bar and tables. It was like being in an old western saloon. The staff was super friendly and the customers were just as friendly. The food was amazing, I recommend the Caesar chicken wrap. After lunch we were able to tour the grounds and meet some of the horses. They were very nice horses that loved getting petted and getting their picture taken. This place is along the famous rt 666 while here take the drive to...
