Monk's Furniture — Local services in Kinston

Had been looking for awhile for furniture when we stumbled into their store and was not expecting much of a difference from anywhere else.

Was met near the door by a friendly staff member like other stores and we said we were just looking. Unlike the other stores, she said that was great and to let her know if we had any questions. She did not follow us around, she did not continually impose on us to talk up a piece we may have looked at, true to her word she let us look.

We did find a piece we were interested in and she gave us every information we asked for including pricing and delivery details.

We ended up ordering and it was in my opinion exceptional in both quality and value.

We ordered some additional pieces to complement it and we had a small issue with one of those and the staff was sympathetic and apologized for the exception and replaced the piece immediately without question.

This was first experience with Monks even though I have seen ads many times, i doubt it will be my last. I would say that it is worth a little effort to give them a look to see if they can...

I want to thank the staff for helping me with a large problem regarding a recliner. They went WAY beyond the call of duty since I did not even purchase the chair from them! They helped me repeatedly by getting me in touch with the correct people with Lane, since the store at the coast that I purchased it from had closed. I can not say enough about how helpful they were to me. You can believe that the next time I need a piece of furniture, I will drive inland to see them. Shopping for big-ticket items can be somewhat stressful. Monk's made it a pleasurable experience. I really enjoyed dealing with them. They seem to me the textbook example of a local, family-owned business making it easy and enjoyable to shop local. Also, it's a good excuse to get off the internet, because their prices are not just comparable, but actually better in most cases. When you add the huge selection and knowledgeable salespeople, it actually made the internet seem like a waste of time.
