My partner and I arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation. Before even greeting us, the woman at the front deskâher name is Carolâlooked us up and down and immediately said, âNow, we donât put up with any wild stuff in here!â
My fiancé and I were baffled. We looked at each other and then reassured her that we are students and full-time workers who recently moved here. We brushed it off, though in hindsight, we should have turned around and gone somewhere else right then and there.
I am a certified RV tech. In the month and a half weâve been here, I have been fixing and working on peopleâs RVs at significantly reduced rates compared to my standard pricing. Recently, I worked on someoneâs RV, and she wasnât completely satisfied. This is where the madness with the RV park started.
In this line of work, issues are not always fixed on the first attempt, especially when tracing water leaks. However, if I charge someone and the issue persists, I always come back and try to resolve it at no extra chargeâbecause thatâs the honest thing to do. All they have to do is let me know.
Instead of reaching out to me, this unhappy customer skipped the chain of command and went straight to the front desk, twisting the story to make it seem like I took her money and refused to come back.
Now, the front desk lady is telling every single person with RV issues not to go to me because Iâm âvery expensive.â In reality, I charge $60 less per hour than larger commercial RV shops and $20 less per hour than other local mobile RV techs. On top of that, Iâve been fixing RVs at this park for far less than I normally charge, cutting my own wages to help people. I always make sure my customers know what I should be chargingâbut at the end of the day, what I charge is none of her business.
Yesterday, while I was working on someoneâs RV, Carol came strolling up in her golf cart. Thinking I couldnât hear her because I had my headphones in, she leaned over to the customer and said, âDonât go to him, heâs charging $$$ an hour.â
I could not believe my ears. I finished the job and told the customer not to even worry about paying me because I was going to have a conversation with her.
Carol was rude, unprofessional, and nasty. My fiancĂ© and I confronted her and the others involved, making sure they knew how awful their behavior was. There is no reason for a woman in her sixties to behave this wayâor for her co-workers and friends to defend her, knowing she was in the wrong. We brought up valid points, and no one had anything to say.
The worst part? Carol never even attempted to speak to me about the situation. She didnât ask for my side of the storyâshe just immediately started slandering my business and name, getting all her friends to join in.
The whole situation is childish, unprofessional, and just plain odd. We had already notified them that we were leaving on the first since weâve paid rent for the month, and she was still petty enough to stroll up on her golf cart with an eviction notice saying that we had to leave on the first. I kid you not, I cannot make this stuff up.
Please pick another park. The people here are...
Read moreNice lady on the phone took my reservation. Got there and the place is closed from 12 - 3. Had no idea where to park. Picked a spot as directed on the information pasted to the door of the office. I was told there were big rig pull throughs. No, there are not. Had to disconnect my car and back in. My 38' RV is sitting in a swamp. Went to lunch, came back at 3:30 and the manager was pretty rude. Said we were in the wrong spot. Well, the spot she wanted us in had a work truck on it so she didn't make me move. They said they have wifi - which they do - as long as you're within 20 feet of the office. After that -- nope - nothing. They said there was a dog walk/park area. It's a 3' x 4' piece of grass in the back by the dumpsters and "decorated" by a ton of raccoon and cat poop. I was awoken Sunday morning by a motorcycle gang either picking up someone or dropping someone off. I really didn't want to ask. Also, there are a lot of diesel engine trucks that drive through here all night. Well, you get what you pay for. Full hookups for $36 a night with 50 amp service. I knew I wasn't getting a KOA deluxe park, but this is kinda yucky. I will know better next time. I will definitely budget better next time! Some pretty odd people here, too. I keep the doors - all of them -- locked on my RV and car at all times. I'm a little nervous walking my dog after it gets dark. It IS convenient to most places, however. Haven't checked out the pool as it's been raining for 3 days so far. Looks ok while driving by. Seriously, pay the extra $$ for a good park. This is on my "oh, I don't...
Read moreAfter driving over 900 miles found that our spot had been given to someone else and the only other spots were not big enough to fit our rig. The owner apologized and refunded us our deposit. Gave us a name of another park that we were able to stay at for the night while we tried to find a place to stay long term as we were booked for two months. We had even called to confirm our place before leaving home and set up an appointment for internet hookup the next morning. But the real reason for two stars is the office manager Carol. As the owner was trying to help us out she is in the background yelling at my husband about how "we've had bigger rigs than yours in here" "can't you back that thing up". I had read bad reviews on here about her but you never know if there really is a problem or if its the customer, well now I know. This park is very tight and we have a 35' travel trailer and a 22' truck. Anyone that deals with RVs knows that tt don't maneuver the way 5th wheels, class A's and class C's do. I've seen my husband put our rig in places and turn around places that blew my mind so when he said there was no way I knew there was no way. He even showed me the one spot and the only thing that would have fit was our truck! From day one we told them we needed a big site, pull thru preferred but we could do a back in if there was enough room to maneuver it. I truly believe they told us what we wanted to hear and knew that once we were here we would have to settle for...
