I was there in February. As other reviewers have said, there was a return trip to the hotel that did not show up when it was supposed to. It was an hour late (10:45 instead of 9:45) despite multiple assurances from the company that it was nearby. I was with a group that included 8 small children and there were plenty of other kids there as well. That once instance of service was terrible.
HOWEVER, I do not believe this to be reflective of the company overall. I spoke to Marriott to try to get compensation for the lack of service and they compensated my family for that one day, but would do nothing about the fact that I no longer had confidence in the service that lead me to book with Marriott in the first place. They directed me to speak to Maingate directly and I'm glad they did.
Maingate's management was very apologetic and owned up to their failure on that night. They offered private transportation for the remainder of our trip to ensure our confidence was restored. As we had never had a problem on multiple trips to Disney World in the morning timeslot, we only requested the private service for the trips home.
After a couple of days where the morning trips continued to be what we expected and the private trips also meeting our needs, our confidence was restored. On our last night, we told them we didn't need the private ride (it seemed a little ridiculous as the rest of our group had left and we only had 4 people, down from the original group of 15). We took the regular shuttle bus back to the hotel, trusting them with the ride for our small kids, even knowing that they would need to get home and get to sleep on a tight schedule for the early morning flight the next day. They came through. The ride home was just fine.
In the end, that one incident shattered my confidence in them, but any company can have one bad incident, even a disastrous incident like that. I won't go into details, but there are others who have reviewed it who did and those details are accurate. But Maingate stepped up to make it right and that restores my confidence in the company. They tried to investigate to see what caused the issue but as far as I'm aware were never able to figure out the cause. But they are in the process of upgrading their tracking system and installing cameras in the busses, so they were hoping that would help prevent something like this in the future. I would not hesitate to book a stay at a place that uses their service...
Read moreAbsolutely awful. My friends and I each paid for the shuttle to take us to and from Disney. We bought it from the Wyndham hotel service. Getting there was fine, a little cramped but the family we shared the shuttle with were great so it made the ride enjoyable. The AC didn't work in the shuttle so it was super hot on the inside!!! But that's not the reason I'm complaining. We paid to get dropped off at Hollywood Studios and to be picked up at Magic Kingdom at 11:00 pm. We started leaving the park an hour early to give us some time. Little did we know, everyone wanted to leave at 10:00 so it was super packed and there was no way we'd make it in time. One of my friends was going to call the place to say we were going to be late because on the receipt they give you a 2 hour window if you miss your shuttle. No phone number on the receipt. Nothing. So when we arrived to the area, we asked literally asked every employee around if they knew when our next shuttle was coming but no one knew. The guy who sold us the shuttle never told us where to go so we're wondering around like 3 lost kittens looking for the shuttle pick up. After about an hour of hopelessly wandering around, we called the hotel and they told us that they had us scheduled down for a 7:20 pick up and that the shuttle services were closed. We had it printed on our receipt that we were to be picked up at 11:00. We had no money for a taxi so after some complaining and begging any bus driver to drop us off at the Wyndham, a really nice employee gave us a ride back to our hotel. The next morning, we went to the little booth they had set up for shuttle services and asked for a refund and they blamed us for being late when it was their fault for writing us down for the wrong time!!! The lady at the desk was extremely rude too!! When we bought the shuttle, we gave them a phone number to contact us if we were late and no one ever called us. Absolutely unfair and ridiculous. If you can avoid it, do not get this company as your shuttle service because they don't care about you. They just want...
Read moreWe paid for this shuttle to the Disney Parks two days. The first day the bus was 35 minutes late picking us up at the hotel. We took an Uber the second day so we could sleep in, but planned to take the bus back. Being New Years Eve, getting out of the park was hell. We called the company to let them know we would be about five minutes late and asked if they could wait. The customer service rep, Jennifer, said that the bus was getting full and though we made a reservation, we might not have a seat.
Well, we got there literally exactly 5 minutes after the pick up time, and the bus was gone. We called again and Jennifer said there would be no more busses for the evening. While we began looking for an Uber, several more groups arrived, and called her as well, all to be told the same thing, and in a very condescending way. After about 20 people were stranded, they finally said they'd send out an 11 passenger van (which only went to one hotel, and took 2 of the 20 people waiting) and then another bus.
Once we got on the bus, I almost had rather we hitchhiked. The driver almost rear ended a car that was stopped in traffic (they did not slam on their brakes in front of him or anything, the line of traffic was well visible even from my seat) because he was distracted by talking on his phone. He had to swerve into Merge Lane to avoid hitting another car at about 45mph.
The bus itself was very dirty, with actual mold spots on the torn warning labels, and sticky surfaces. God knows when the last time it was sanitized.
Overall, I would recommend putting your $6 a head towards and Uber or Lyft. Highly unreliable,...
