I have been wanting to start my own garden for a long time, but I let doubt shut down the process for many years. I was always convincing myself that I didn't have a "green thumb" and I let that keep me from getting started. I was lucky enough to find Tia and Gabriel with Half-a Barn Farm and decided to get the free consultation offered on their website. I am so glad that I did! They spent a lot of time evaluating my space and asking me lots of questions to help me figure out the best way to build a great garden. After we worked together to get all the details, they built a customized plan for my non-gardening self. I opted to have them do a full build and set up (because really if I was going to do it I would have by now ), but there was always the option of doing many of the parts myself with their guidance. I also opted for a customized plant o gram which gave detailed instructions on what, how, and when to plant based on my preferences. Tia and Gabriel provided the the exact amount of hand holding I needed to do it on a larger scale all while making me feel empowered to do it correctly. We are also getting them to help us build compost bins and a new coop for chickens. My kids are so excited! Because they also offer workshops and classes, I know I can get all the details and on going info I need to help us become healthier, more sustainable and that we can actually manage it on our own. If you have been waiting until someone can help you do it right-call...

Educating us along the way on more than just homesteading. Being able to finally have our first garden built at our plumbing shop, Westover Plumbing, is only months away from adding chicken coop and more! You can see in the picture the old shed in the back that Half a Barn farm already said we can repurpose and make a fine home for some hens!
We ran water to the new hose bib right at the garden gate and are able to be set up for watering when we plant in a few weeks. I am so grateful to Half a Barn farm for living out their dream and allowing us to be a part! Hard work pays off in happiness more than dollars and We are...
