I have shopped at different places in town, and can say that I have been pleased shopping here. I read the high AND low end reviews, and can only respond with my experiences, AND observations while there. Buying toys of this nature are usually best met with success if you have done your research on what you want, and what is a fair market value for the product. Upon my first few visits, I felt a little uncomfortable, but I think this was due to the original floorplan (before expansion) because it was cramped and I felt 'boxed in'. The staff always asked if they could help, but did seem to be a little 'distant'. They would answer questions and show me the inventory, so I don't think it was anything personal. I have made a few purchases that I could have maybe saved $20-$30 or $40 on, if I haggled or shopped around (but if you are spending $400+, don't get butt hurt over a few dollars, especially if you make a snap decision...they are there to make a profit, just as all businesses are).....so, if I didn't try to negotiate, and was offended by the lack of negotiations, then who is to blame? BUT... I had a toy that I had bought (new) and it didn't function correctly after we cleaned it. SEVERAL months later.... I took it in, and without hesitation, the paperwork was done and the item was shipped back to the manufacturer. The store called me a few weeks later and said you are ready to go. I went back and picked up the toy. I was not charged any shipping (unlike another shop here in town), handling costs or fee's. The employees do get busy and see a crap ton of us 'yahoos' come in with a ton of questions...(I have heard some pretty stupid ones, and have probably asked some of myself). No shop is perfect, but these guys appear to like what they do, and seem to try to make the consumer happy. There are some people that wouldn't be happy if they sold the items at cost, or even took a loss. Anticipating unrealistic expectations breeds unrealistic results. I cannot complain with my purchases, or any customer service...if I could then it would probably be due to my own...
Read moreCross Roads Firearms, in Halls, TN, is my Favorite "small" gun store by a large margin! I use "small" in double quotes to denote that they're a local, family-owned, operation. Their selection is HUGE! And, in a LOT of cases, their handgun prices beat most other local stores and even most online stores. I always get great service and everyone on staff is very approachable, friendly, and knowledgeable. They've even put up with me returning holsters multiple times while trying to find one that works best for me!
And speaking of holsters, they have one of the largest in-store selections of holsters that I've found in the Halls / Knoxville, TN area. Maybe even the largest selection.
I can't recommend this place highly enough. I've bought somewhere around half a dozen or so new firearms from Cross Roads Firearms in a mix of pistols, revolvers, and traditional rifles and always leave happy. And I'll probably be picking up a few more revolvers over the next few months. They also have a great rotation of used firearms coming through, so check those out and come back often to see what's new!
Cross Roads Firearms has one of the largest selection of ammunition in the Knoxville, TN area as well. You can usually find better ammo prices online, but once you factor in shipping, it becomes a small margin and sometimes Cross Roads Firearms ends up being cheaper. So, why not just stop in for your ammo needs and support a local 2A friendly business!? Plus you get the ammo today, and don't have to wait a week or longer on shipping! :o )
Oh, and did I mention they have an excellent re-loading section, if you're in to that?
They're almost always super busy every time I stop by, but they've been amply staffed on every visit, so the wait time is always minimal.
So, if you're in the Knoxville, TN or surrounding area, stop by Cross Roads Firearms the next time you're in the market for a new firearm, or any related items (or just in the mood to look around). You just can't beat their selection,...
Read moreCross Roads Firearms is the best place in the Knoxville and surrounding area to buy a new or used firearm. My wife and I purchased a KELTECH 22 LR handgun and the gentleman waiting on us could not have been more informative and easy to work with. At the same time I prepaid for a 12 gauge home defense shotgun which came in in four days, I picked it up inspected it brought it home. It was a MAC Arms 1014 12 gauge with walnut furniture. Upon getting home, of course I was trying different firing positions and found that it was a little too heavy for me to shoulder due to nerve damage in my left arm and hand. The next day I took it back and explained to the gentleman that sold it to me what was going on. He couldn’t have been nicer and more understanding! He had previously showed me a Citadel boss 24 12 gauge shotgun. He knew everything about it just like he was trained at the factory. Having synthetic furniture,it fit my needs perfectly. The transition from one shotgun to another with seamless, as I stated before, he could not be more informative, understanding, and direct answering any question that I had. The staff in Cross Roads Firearms has to be one of the best, most knowledgeable, customer oriented group of people I’ve ever met. As soon as you walk in the store and start speaking to one of them, it is almost immediately apparent that money is not their main goal. Your satisfaction, fitment of the firearm for your exact needs and commitment to customer service is the #1 goal! I highly recommend Cross Roads Firearms to beginners as well as...
