Walmart — Local services in Kodiak

Worst Walmart i've ever been in. It's been YEARS since they had any baskets so you either have to carry your stuff in your arms or push a cart around for just a few items. The manager say we ordered them.....said this for like the last 3 years. SERIOUSLY!!! it's been YEARS!!! They always have to two express lanes open where you have to try to squeeze your cart past other people in line 1 to get to line 2. It always ends up with the two lines blended into each other. The manager is too dumb to realize to open the other express. They're always out of everything. They never order enough of the things that sell out. They put everyone else out of business and are now the only place to buy a lot of things but then they discontinue stocking them and now we have to order off island. I tried to get some DVD RW discs, but they stopped stocking them. I asked a clerk in the electronics and got a shrug as my answer if they've ordered any more. Had to find manager who actally told me to go ask in electronics...when i told her the clerk there was clueless, she informed me she had no idea and i had to go ask in...

Two things I have to comment on. 1) My son brought in some money to buy his own candy and toy, which included a large 50 cent coin. I attempted regular checkout, and was told they didn't want to count his coins, so to use self checkout. When we went there, I noticed the big coin he had was gone. I asked what happened to it, and they said the self checkouts don't take those big of coins. I told them we would like to keep it or would like 2 quarters to replace it, and they acted like they couldn't understand me. Even though it's minuscule, he was 50 cents short when he had enough for his stuff to begin with. 2) I bought 3 rhubard roots to plant, and when I brought them home, they were completely dried out and dead, I planted anyway to see if they could be saved, but they rotted. I again decided to buy 2 more rhubard roots and a strawberry root, checked them in my car, and they to were all dead and dried out, and so I decided to return those...

Clothes on the racks in the store are terrible but they do have some good sales on stuff. Fairly clean store but I have never had the chance to check out their bathroom yet. So mixed feelings. Nice flowers outside but they need to have more of them to beautify. A very good place to get household paper products from as you'll save a few dollars over buying at Safeway but in the area of buying food they have a very limited selection. It's just better to shop for food at the Safeway here on the island. Update Bathroom I have used their bathroom twice now and both times it was exceptionally clean. I have come to notice that the way the stores product areas are arranged is a complete nightmare. I can usually find things fairly easy at most other Wal-Mart stores this store is difficult.
