I have had 6 other tattoo artists do work on me in the past. Prior to each (except for one on a whim in college), I did lots of research and selected an artist with great referrals, a niche style that aligned with what I wanted, and examples of work that showed the quality for which I was looking. With the exception of the one in college, all of the art and tattoo artists were great (or at least I thought...).
When I decided to have a full arm sleeve done, I went through the same rigorous research. After receiving multiple high-praise recommendations, I landed on Mike Cruise at Secret Addiction Tattoos. I reached out to him, and we discussed the ideas I had for the sleeve. He clearly laid out the sitting time to expect, talked about how to plan it out over multiple sessions, and was super collaborative on the very rough ideas for the artwork I had in my straight-lines-engineering brain. We proceeded to schedule 4 sessions spread out across about 18 months. I was admittedly taken aback at first, when I found out how long he was booked out, but...
During my first session, I knew that I had made the right choice, and the wait was absolutely worth it. He is leaps and bounds above any other artist who has done worn on me. Even after the first couple of sessions, while the overall sleeve was still in progress, the portions completed received tons of positive comments. I have people stop me almost daily to say how great the artwork looks and to ask me where I had it done. I'm often met with sadness from them when they hear Mike isn't in the Dallas area, where we live now. I have one more session to go in just a few weeks (I added a 5th to fill the final area under my arm š¬), but I couldn't be happier.
If you want an honest, hard-working tattoo artist who cares deeply about his work, look no further than Mike Cruise at Secret Addictions Tattoo. He's not someone who just slings ink without thought just to make a few bucks. He'll lay out the truth for you (both good and bad) on what will look good, how to be prepared, and what he is willing to do and not to do.
Trust me, MIKE IS...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreSpent a few years doing research looking for a tattoo artist that I could trust with my first sleeve and visible tattoo. All my other tattoos are hidden under clothes, so it was important for me to find an artist that had the style I wanted and could trust. I found Mike on a fb post and knew he was the man. I booked my appointment for 2 years out. I did not mind at all. His work speaks for itself. In that time I did my research, if I had questions, I had PLEANTY of time to ask them or look them up. When my appointment came up Mike and Stacy were very welcoming and accommodating. I ate a sandwich in the parking lot before my appointment. They let me bring in snacks, a drink, pillow and blanket. Although I didn't even need the pillow or blanket. The room is a perfect temp even though I run cold a lot of times. I'm 43 years old and suffer from RA so after a long session I tend to get stiff in my hip and have to move around a little and Mike was very understanding and professional. Thank you Mike for tattooing me. I can't wait to finish up in a few months. Oh. And you can delete Google reviews....
