We are extremely pleased with the care and service of Dr Yun and his team. We needed to have 2 children undergo General Anesthesia for dental procedures on the same day. One of our children has a lot of needle anxiety and both have sensory challenges. Our previous attempt for our child with needle anxiety with a different Anesthesiologist was a fail and he didn’t get the procedure and we lost our deposit. The former doctor did not listen and wanted to use restraints when my son got very anxious. What a difference with Dr Yun. First of all he asked about needs well in advance before an appointment was even made. And then he listened to our needs and concerns and came up with a gentle and thoughtful strategy. Once we confirmed an appointment he collected information about both my children to make sure the experience was pleasant for them as individuals - he made sure nothing would happen that we weren’t comfortable with and we knew what to expect. They helped us prep both of our children so nothing was surprising or scary. They also are so thoughtful and keep anything scary, like needles, hidden from the kids. Each kiddo had a pleasant and calm experience and both were able to get through the anesthesia and dental procedures smoothly without any issues or fears or resistance. It really helped reduce our anxiety as parents that it wasn’t a traumatic experience for our children with different needs to access healthcare. Three years ago I had the following procedure(s), periodontal flap surgery, tooth extraction, bone graft, and gum restoration. They had me arrive early so I could take an oral sedative called Triazolam. Ended up taking two full tablets spaced out over 1-1/2 hours before procedure began. Most painful procedures in my lifetime (age 71 back then). This time procedures were similar without an extraction but skin to be removed from upper part of mouth to use in gum restoration surgery, so I elected to do this under General Anesthesia. All the difference in the world, absolutely no pain whatsoever during the procedures. (Not so much after surgery, but I expected recovery to be on the painful side). Dr Yun is great at what he does and clued my in on a very technical term used by anesthesiologists before we started the procedure - "time to get loopy". I doubt that's really a technical term, but shows he does have a sense of humor which puts a patient at ease for the procedure. In my case it took three injections with almost no effect then shortly thereafter was waking up and the surgery was over. Maybe he brought out the big gun early and used Propofol to put me to sleep or maybe my brain said not ready yet? The only concern I had prior to the induction of general anesthesia was the Nasotracheal intubation (NTI). However I had no soreness of the nasal track or throat. I have a medical issue that i can’t tolerate to local anesthetics for my wisdom teeth extraction. I was worried that I can never get out my wisdom teeth because I can’t undergo local anesthesia. Luckily, Dr Rolfes @Smiles4OC recommended me to get general anesthesia with Dr Yun, and I completely loved that procedure. Dr Yun put me to sleep in the entire procedure, no need for breathing tube, then Dr Rolfes took out my two wisdom teeth, I woke up with no pain at all, and my mouth was not numbed at all. Dr Yun gave some IV pain medication, and I did not feel any single pain at all after the procedure or the next several days. This is amazing, trust me, I have 0% pain for my wisdom teeth extraction.
