I have been a customer for almost 25 years and have had nothing but good experiences there. Since the plants are native and some from very specific sites, it is always wonderful to have the personnel go over the planting instructions. They are always helpful and willing. Even a repeat user like myself still needs some assistance in that realm and I have never felt like I was bugging anyone. What’s amazing is that if mike Evans the owner is there, which he is a lot, he will be glad to take the time to help you with plant selection etc. You won’t get that at plant depot or other nurseries!! Plant depot is expensive and almost everything there, except a couple of plants ( and I mean a couple.....like two!!) are non-native water guzzlers. If you don’t water them all the time they won’t look like they do at the nursery but they won’t tell you that little secret there. One last thing, this nursery does more than just sell plants. They put on weekly seminars on many subjects from plants, animals, insects to native cooking and support for indigenous cultures and art. Incredibly well rounded nursery that is more than just a place to by plants. If anyone just comes here for plants that’s fine. But if you miss out on all the other aspects of what this place has to offer then you are missing out on a lot. Go to the seminars, talk to the people, spend time walking the grounds and get a feel for what this place is all about. It’s not just...
Read more"LOVE THIS PLACE". The absolute coolest plants ever and they are all native. This place is nestled about 10 minutes from the 5 freeway, but feels like an afternoon vacation from everything. The staff love the plants they sell, and they love the native birdlife. Walking the grounds is such an amazing experience. They have a little walking path that is stunning with little private rest areas surrounded by nature, the native plants they sell in the nursery area and sheltered by 80ft trees. Depending on what season you're there it will always look different With different plants flowering and flourishing.
Sometimes I will buy big batches for clients but on my last specific trip,(A week ago) it was all about me. I bought a Mexican Easter cactus and it flowered a few days later. It was so perfumy it made my patio smell amazing.
The plant I am very intrigued with right now is the manzanita. The ones they have are bearing little tiny berries. And they're edible and taste like sour little apples. When this plant flowers the hummingbirds absolutely thrive on it.
Thanks for the afternoon vacation @ TREE OF...

Every, transaction over the last 2 years, I have been over charged...last week, after reviewing my receipt, I had a $15 item on my receipt I was charged for but did not purchase. It was my error in not checking my receipt before I paid. I figured, since I only had 9 items, and was in a rush, I figured no way, because I was not spending over $400 that I usually spend there. I have spent 2 years landscaping, from scratch, a 1/2 acre, spending quite a bit of money here and with a rare exception, when I ask questions about how much sun, or shade a plant needs, or if they have certain plants, they are are rude, as if I should not be asking. I bet after the 2 years, they would not even recognize me..where even at Plant Depot (a pretty commercial store) they...
