Pandora's Box Toys & Collectibles — Local services in Lafayette Township

I can’t possibly give enough praise to Pandora’s Box and Erik especially. So many aspects to compliment so let’s start with autograph signings. Signings happen frequently at Pandora’s Box especially in the Summertime. The line is always well organized and the attendees are friendly. The most important factor to me is you are NEVER rushed. This is essential when you’re having valuable items signed and don’t want them over-handled. I’ve had several instances elsewhere in which the autographs weren’t permitted time to dry or were hurriedly shuffled away damaging the signatures in the process. This has never occurred at “The Bawx”.

Any and I mean every and all action figure lines you can possibly conjure up in your head are represented within the store. The trustworthy nature of the store allows the shopper to navigate and handled items freely without feeling like you’re intruding or out of line to handle seemingly meticulous relics. Prices are all marked and there’s no mystery. Items are arranged thoughtfully and well organized. Every from TurboGrafx 16 to NES is well stocked even down to back issues of Nintendo Power. This place has the inventory and quality of a stand alone museum except you can go home with the exhibits for reasonable prices.

In the midst of the pandemic, coinciding with the store’s opening, Pandora’s was kind enough to financially contribute to a successful charity that raised over $10,000 for Miracle League of Mercer County. Even while the store’s operations were being limited as a result, they still contributed to the New Jersey community.

I am thankful for both Erik and Pandora’s Box for facilitating a place for all of us to dream and connect with our childhoods. The mix of emotions you will experience with in this store is certainly worth a beautiful day trip through the scenic village of Lafayette en route to this veritable Shangri La. I had bought my husband and our son tickets for the Hardy Boyz meet and greet as a Birthday gift however, due to family circumstances we had to leave to ATL shortly after I had made the purchase. I did not want them to miss this as Jeff is a childhood favorite of theirs. We decided to take a road trip and drive up to make the meet and greet. It was extremely cold this day and when we had gotten there the line was pretty lengthy. After some time a gentleman came out and announced that due to the time and the Hardy Boyz having to make it to a match right after they would likely not be able to see everyone however, a refund would be given. My boys were very disappointed and I felt bad that we had come so far for this and it was a possibility that they would not be able to get in. I went to the front and spoke with a gentleman (I wish I would've gotten his name I just know that he was very tall lol) who I believe works for the store and I explained the situation, he was very kind and understanding and did everything in his power to ensure that we made it in before they had to leave. (We were so grateful for this). We were so amazed with the items the store had that after we had met them we brought our items to the car and stuck around for things to clear out and proceeded to shop. This store really brings you back to your childhood and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Some things are slightly higher in price than you may find online but some things you just cannot pass up on. They are also very considerate with pricing when buying multiple items. We bought a couple of items and we will definitely be visiting again next time we come back or possibly drive back up for other meet and greets. Thank you for the generosity!!!! Know your pricing! Before you buy make sure you research online. As a frequent toy and comic convention goer the prices here are way overpriced, some items were half the price at NYCC than here. No clue how they do their pricing but no way its based on actual value, looks more like top asking price on ebay. Examples: the loose wrestling figures in bins are $10 which is double cost of shows, they want $900 each for hollywood collectibles ghostbusters statues when they range from $400 to $600 online, many action figures in boxes you will pay a minimum $40 for when many stores and shows they are under $25 even smaller ones, loose bagged figures will run you minimum $25 for marvel, tmnt, gb, etc even if broken or worn just because it has the accessory, $25 for a worn heavily used wrestling tshirt, $5 for matchbox cars, and more...please price check before you buy! Even saw some items there asking $50 for that i saw at walmart not 2 hours before for $20-$25! It's a great store for nostalgia or to find that 1 thing you need to complete a collection, but took my kids there the other day and found the same items they wanted on ebay and Amazon for 25%+ cheaper than in store. As a matter of fact i placed orders on my phone on amazon while i was there for the items my kids wanted and saved 20-25% on the spot. Owners are also kind of arrogant and rude and have no people skills. They sit and play video games and cant be bothered to help you. You can't discuss or negotiate with them no matter what your argument even with proof. They also didn't know about a lot of the toys they just wheel and deal. If you ask them about anything they dont really know. I am more than willing to pay big money for what i need or top value and this place had everything i needed but i could not justify their pricing for anything.
