When my girls were little, I’d like to bring them to the Lafayette Community center to play in the playground area or just chill in the shade. I never did sign them up for classes here but I know there is something for everyone. Now that my girls are in high school, and I’m part of the Las Lomas Boosters organization, for the past few years, Ive held our annual auction in the Jennifer Russell room. I will say, I don’t think there is a better spot in the East Bay for events especially since they don’t require you to use their catering or bar services. For our event, we wanted Los Panchos to provide food and our own group set up and ran the bar at the auction. It’s amazing how many places want to rent out their room but then won’t allow outside services to come provide for the event. The Lafayette Center has an amazing kitchen which can be used for set up plus they have a sound system, a stage, large TVs plus chairs and tables as part of the fees. It’s awesome. We provide our own decorations and table covers as well as anything needed for the event and as part of the fee, Lafayette Center will provide two people to assist with organizing and with cleaning after it’s over. I’ve had our auction here three years now and I can’t imagine having it anywhere else. I’m so glad Lafayette figured out a community need and provided it. I wish Walnut Creek would...

I enjoy seeing the parents bringing their little children to the playrooms etc. It has a friendly feel. I also went there for a memorial service, in the big room. It was very nice, modern and clean. ...

We have had our annual auction in the Jennifer Russell Building for the past few years and I can’t think of a better place. They allow food vendors to serve rather than use their own kitchen plus we are able to serve our own drinks with the supplied bar. Great location and fabulous staff. Plus, the rest of the facility is great for...
