I have always thought Lake Butler apartments to be one of the best to live in among all the apartments within our little community however I'm sad to say this is absolutely no longer the truth!!! This sad truth rest upon the current manager/landlord Michelle Thurman. She seems to take pride in hurting and taking advantage of the poor, sick and elderly that have no way to truly defend themselves against her spiteful ways. However her malicious acts do not discriminate only to the elderly, she will stop at nothing to destroy the lives of anyone that she has the "upper hand" with. She clearly uses and abuses her position to those living in this public housing authority she supervises. She will makes up lies and gossip about one tenant to other tenants in the apartment complex. She bullies her tenants with threats of eviction when 99% of the tenants that make up the population in this complex have absolutely no where else to turn. She has no problem sleeping at night knowing she has put sick, elderly, disabled adults and poor innocent children out on the curb homeless simply because she doesn't like you, or because you've stood up for yourself when she has tried to bully or threaten you. She harasses, bullies and threatens her tenants on a regular basis. I have proof she went to a previous tenants son in laws Facebook page and printed pictures of him from his personal social media site (the son in law did not even reside on the premises) and printed them out making false claims and accusations against the tenant. She will make up false documents/noncompliance paperwork, never have a signature from the tenant proving the tenant was aware of such paperwork then claim the tenant never complied with stated course of action. She is very unprofessional to say the least and nothing short of a negative reflection of this particular housing authority. I will go even further to say she reflects negatively not only to the apartment complex but to our entire community that I have always cherished and loved. Are the leaders in our small town what she is made of? Are we willing to let this woman hurt and destroy so many lives in our community? Who would want to move into or continue residing in a community that allows one of our leaders to treat our elderly so poorly, she truly is a black hole in our tight knit, loving community who stops at nothing to help a neighbor in need. While we try to help those who are down, poor or hurting she stops at nothing to not only put them on the street but tries to limit/destroy their future possibilities of housing with other public housing authorities with lies and deceit.

I assume living in this apartment complex would be better than being homeless but be ready for all of her drama, deceit, harassment and threatening behavior because like I stated earlier her malicious acts know no bounds and don't plan on staying long term or making this home because I PROMISE she will come for you too, it's only a matter of time before you too will "rub her the wrong way"

She even goes as far as to dictate what you're "allowed" to wear to your mailbox to check your mail. She will tell you to go home and put on day clothes before checking your mail or coming into the office 🧐 I mean really, who does that?! My name is Jennifer Norviel. I think it pretty sad and totally a conflict of interest that a manager is able to write a review on herself. Let me list the issues I know about. Michelle Thurman searched Ann Rollins room in her apartment, she tells people that she will evict them if they don't have a job"not true", gives evictions to tenants that has not been filed in court"has to be filed in court, only a judge can evict you", has asked for lawyer fees from tenants who won their case in court. She asked them to make the money order payable to her. Michelle Thurman even produced paperwork with a lawyer name on it the tenant contacted the lawyer on paperwork. The lawyer said they didn't represent that tenant or royal America don't pay Michelle, Andy the maintaince man who worked at lake Butler apartments for 11 yrs. Was fired for stealing the same thing Michelle Thurman has been doing. Taking things from apartments, and elbowed a tenants Vistor because she would not leave the property at 8 pm . There is a police report. All of this has been reported to hud and corporate. Michelle Thurman has tenants working in the office. Normal management hours are from Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm. This manager spends the night, is there on weekends till 9-10pm, will ring your doorbell as early as 6 am and as late as 10 pm that I know of, she stops visitors and ask for their drivers license or social security cards. Forges documents Rachel Cone has had this happen to her and had proof. Michelle Thurman denies every conflict ,altercation that she is confronted with. If there was any way possible I wouldn’t give this POS apartment complex any stars! Michelle Thurman, the “manager” of this place is an evil human being for what she does to innocent, loyal, long time tenants and she will gets what’s coming to her. All she cares about is making innocent people’s lives miserable, probably because she has a miserable life herself! If I were you I would never consider moving here because she won’t care about anything but herself, she will even stoop as low as letting you live with infestation of bugs! My mother in law has lived here for years and for some unknown awful reason Michelle had my mother in law removed from the place she has called home for so many years because...why?!?! Who the heck knows!! She makes up false documents, takes photos from peoples personal social media pages (photos/memories of spending time with family) just to use against an innocent woman to kick her out, leaving her with no place to call her own! It’s like family and friends can’t even come there to visit, you'd think this place would welcome family and friends openly, instead of treating it as a "do not enter" dwelling.
