If you want to go to a community college J Sargeant Reynolds is not the college for you I've been having problems with the school for years when it comes to dispersing money for student loans they give you the runaround nobody ever gives you a straight answer for some reason they have a problem with dispersing students money as if they need to hold on to it these may not seem like the worst problems in the world but as a student when you need help they should be able to help you I honestly don't believe that J Sargeant Reynolds cares about their students or doesn't takes their students seriously at the end of the day I prefer to be with a college that's not just about money but also about the student education they are very quick to put you out there very quick to leave you hanging instead of trying to help as many students as possible majority of the staff here display that they don't care about the students including the teachers if you need help and need a teacher to slow down they tell you that you should already know these things I don't feel like I'm being taught anything I feel like I'm paying to be constantly discouraged. staff is nasty and when you need to speak to someone above them as in Dean wise most of the time you can't get in contact with them I sent several emails out and won't get anything back I called numerous time left message with secretaries and no one is able to help at the end of the day some of these students are low income or even if they're not low-income they're just trying to get their education and I don't believe that J Sargeant Reynolds cares about their students enough to help them with their education J Sargeant Reynolds is definitely a stepping stone that I wouldn't use to step ...... note to parents if you want your children to succeed look into another Community College or find a private college but I definitely would not put my child in this type of position it's bad enough that I put myself in this position a lot of things have changed in this college and not for the better but definitely for the worst if you don't believe me experience it yourself take in to account how hard it is to sign up for classes how hard it is to receive your financial aid how hard it is to get the help that you need what is the point of these people having these positions and these jobs if they're not doing anything worth anything at the end of the day most of these teachers act like they're better than you they treat you as if yes it is not their job to help you like right now I'm in the m t e class which is math we don't really get taught anything everything's online majority of time when you need help in class you're being told that you need to go down math Central to receive additional help I didn't sign up for math Central I signed up for mte what is the point of having a teacher in a classroom if I can't get the help that I need while I'm there why should I take time out of my day to go get the help that I paid for to get in the classroom J Sargeant Reynolds it's all around a crappy school and the only reason why I'm currently still enrolled in it because John Tyler is too far for me to travel to but I will do anything to get my education the right way and this does not feel right so I ask myself if I'm going to read and roll again for the fall because do I want to go through what I went through this summer semester I think there should be some type of Regulation over these colleges to taking advantage of the students in so many ways and there's no one regulating or making sure that the students are getting treated well and even when you do try to explain that you're not being treated well it's kind of brushed off and tell me you basically to chuck it up and move on but that's not what I paid for I don't pay the chuck it up and move on I pay to get my education and feel like an important student in this college.......help me because I can't take anymore Signed a student in need with...

Review for Ms. Amon Patterson Super Star Rating – Reynolds Community College

I walked into Reynolds College unsure and overwhelmed about reentering school after many years, but meeting Ms. Amon Patterson changed everything. She was absolutely amazing kind, patient, and incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond to guide me through the process and made me feel welcomed, supported, and hopeful. Her presence felt like a blessing. I’m so grateful for her help she is truly a gem!

Financial Aid representative Maria Clarke gets a Zero star rating see below!

On July 1, 2025, at approximately 8:11 AM, I contacted the Financial Aid office and spoke with a representative who identified herself as Maria. After further review on the school website I discovered that the representative name is Maria Clarke. Unfortunately, the interaction was extremely unpleasant. Maria was disrespectful, aggressive, and unprofessional throughout the conversation. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, she responded dismissively, asking, “What do you want to speak to a supervisor for?” and became argumentative.

I calmly expressed that her behavior was inappropriate, to which she sarcastically replied, “Wow.” I asked if the call was recorded, and she confirmed that it was. I strongly urge the college to review the recording, as I was spoken to in a manner that was both unprofessional and vulgar.

Maria initially told me that her supervisor’s name was Denise. However, when I called back to follow up, I was informed that the supervisor on duty that day was Ms. Gillespie. This inconsistency only added to my concerns.

I had reached out with a simple question regarding my Financial Aid To-Do List. Instead of receiving assistance, I was met with hostility. When I attempted to explain my concern, Maria only became more aggressive and uncooperative.

I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and addressed appropriately. No student should be subjected to such treatment when...

Attending this school has been so frustrating. I would not recommend this school due to enrollment services, the lack of communication, and the "policies". This is the second community college I've attended and I learned the grass is NOT greener on the other side. I left my last school because I needed classes that weren't offered there but Reynolds has made me so frustrated I'm deciding not to continue my education here. 1: if you are an online student the enrollment office has no sense of ergency to help you. They will say things like , "it will take 24-72 business hours to process your EMAIL" after 3 days of already sending your email. 2: If you're an online student and drive all the way to Richmond for assistance don't go to the humanities office at PRC because the front desk lady likes to make you feel dumb for asking reasonable questions. 3: you WILL be penalized for dropping classes. Are you having a mental break down ? Did you loose a family member ? Are you having a health emergency? Just found out you're taking the wrong classes? Welp it honestly doesn't matter because if you drop 50% or more of your classes Reynolds makes sure that's an issue and you will no longer recieve your financial aid.... 4: rude people everywhere 5: add/drop forms 6: you have to fill out paper work for pretty much EVERYTHING.
