I had a great experience here at Riggin while completing my private pilot training.
Everyone I met loves airplanes and were down to earth people who teach you how to fly in a no nonsense manner putting in the time 12 hours a day 7 days a week to make sure you understand what you need to know to be a competent pilot. They don't waste your time or money and get you where you want to go as quickly as you are able to learn.
They specialize in Ag training with a fleet of spray planes of all types. But they will train many certificates including private, commercial, sea plane, and probably sport and recreational tickets not to mention tailwheel and complex endorsements. I've heard they may also offer helicopter training soon which might be to fun to pass up.
The aircraft fleet seems to be frequently updated with planes coming and going and some of the aircraft they had were recently restored and upgraded with a couple in the process of being rebuilt. Piper J3 and Super Cubs, Cessna 140 and 150, V tail bonaza to Call Airs and Ag Cats.
I would recommend Riggin Flight Services to anyone looking to complete their pilot training, it's absolutely worth traveling from another...
Read moreI had all my requirements met flight wise and just needed to knock out the ground weaknesses I had.
I spent a week here and was given little direction, in that time spent 2 hours on the ground with an instructor. The instructors are kind, but theyâre not given a whole lot of structure to go off of and lessons etc are nonexistent.
Itâs advertised as a âgo at your own paceâ school, but if you ask for more ground they donât really take you seriously.
I was signed off for a check ride completely unprepared. If it was a checkride I could pass, it wasnât to the ACS.
The airplanes are worn out. Maintenance concerns are ignored.
I cut my losses and went home, I was trying to pay for someone to teach me what I needed to earn my license. This school seemed to just want me to buy my license.
If youâre polished and check ride ready they can get you done quick, but youâll have to fly to the DPEâs preferences rather...
Read moreI came to brush up on my tailwheel skills in Rigginâs super cub, and to visit my son who works here as a flight instructor. My review may be a little bias, but I think they got the best instructors ever! Especially Erik! Hahaha. Seriously though, this is a quality no-nonsense operation. And they have a designated examiner on staff, so scheduling your flight test is never a problem. They had a multi-engine commercial student there when I was visiting - and the fella was going to be in and out in two days. For those that want to work hard, Rigginâs can get you...
