I rented a houseboat for the 4th of July weekend plus one day to include the 4th. I picked it up on Friday morning without too much difficulty. They were busy, it was after all going to be a busy weekend. After an hour of waiting for the driver to get the houseboat to where we were taking it....about 200 yards from the office....we were all set. It was relatively clean, about what I would expect for a rental. 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms.

We rented the houseboat as an extension to our cabin right across from Carlos 'n Charlies for family members to sleep in for our annual 4th of July Party. The walk from the cabin to our dock right now is about 300 yards, so having an air conditioned place to go to with bathrooms and a kitchen was just the ticket. And it was great until one of the toilets stopped functioning. 20 people now sharing 2 bathrooms - one up at the cabin, and one on the houseboat. Not an ideal situation. So, I called the nice people at Just For Fun to have them come 200 yards to the houseboat to see why we couldn't get the toilet to flush.

I called 20 times at 5:30pm before I got thru and then was immediately placed on hold for 17 minutes before I hung up. I was, after all entertaining 100 guests. I called back about an hour later to be placed on another 10 minute hold before I hung up. The third time I called I had to tell the young lady that I would not hold and she was a little miffed and said, "I can only talk to you if you have a really quick question." I quickly explained the situation and was told that they were really busy but would inform the manager and someone would be out that evening once they slowed down. Fine. I understand they were busy, and it wasn't a pressing matter, it could wait until they slowed down. I'm sure they were dealing with lots of stupidity that happens during the holiday weekends and too much alcohol.

No one showed. No one called. The houseboat stuck from the toilet. 8 people slept on the boat with that smell.

I called the next morning, and was told someone would be over shortly. No one showed. No one called.

When I called to have the houseboat returned and explained that no one ever showed up to fix the toilet. I was told, "I understand your frustration, but we are really busy. It is a holiday weekend." To which my response was, "4th of July comes the same time every year. I would think that a business such as yours would plan for the craziness and hire enough people to take care of all your customers. I spent $4000 on a houseboat that was anchored 200 yards from your office, and it was too difficult to send someone over to fix a toilet?"

I was told the manager would call me. I still have not heard from any one at...

Update: My husband received a call back from Kyle. He indicated their phone/internet system crash, however he made good faith efforts to reach out and rectify the problem. Kyle apologized for our experience and was willing to provide partial credit towards another rental or refund. Kyle was genuine in his response. Based on Kyle's response to our concerns we will consider future business with this establishment. For this we give 4 stars as music was our only issue which could have been resolved if timely communication was given.

I decided to celebrate my 40th birthday with this company. A MILESTONE birthday. My husband and I visited the property days prior to our party barge rental to ensure adequate accommodations and music for our guests. We spoke with Ella and she ensured us that they would make the necessary arrangements. Even during check-in I reiterated the importance of music. Needless to say our experience was HORRIBLE! Music makes a party and for the entire 3 hours on the boat the music did not play consistently. Our captain was awesome and did what he could but unfortunately it was not enough. We attempted to call and speak with a manager. Kyle indicated he was a manager however it appeared Kyle hung up the phone while my husband was speaking. When my husband did not get a response from Kyle he hung up and called back. No one answered the phone.

This establishment appears to be ran by kids or very immature people who are rude and disrespectful. We paid a pretty penny for the rental and it was lack luster. Do not waste your time or money. I will not do busy with the establishment again and I will tell...
