Mt Waumbek — Local services in Lancaster

Beautiful hike that is a moderately steady incline, (never getting steep) through beautiful hardwoods, then to enchanting mossy softwoods up to Starr King with nice views to the Presidentials! Nice stroll on the col between Starr King and Waumbak, with the summit being wooded but just a little past it is a small clearing with another view to the Presidentials. Having lunch at Starr King is just wonderful. Trail easy to follow, and a great begginer 4000+er. A must hike in Fall...

The trail is wet and muddy all the way upto Waumbek and star king. No views today from Star King as it was cloudy. The wooded summit of Waumbek does not provide any views as well. À great trial to do if it’s raining or it’s cloudy. Would need to go back to starking later this summer. The trail is continuous uphill but it’s not too strenuous. A very manageable hike for a 4000er. The actual summit has no views to speak off. There ain't even a sign, however, there is a small pile of rocks and a trail change the lines up with the summit. Fortunately the summit of Star King makes up with sweeping views of the presidentials...
