The people were lovely and the handmade crafts and items they sell are adorable...but I went in to have a gem swap on my horizontal eyebrow ring and had a highly stressful experience.
The piercer kept insisting my surface piercing was a dermal piercing, said she had never seen anything like my jewelry, and did not know what kind of gem would fit in the bar; which might have been fine, had she said as much and sent me on my way. I heard her gasp a couple of times while trying to manhandle the gem that needed replacing out of the bar, which did not instill confidence when this thing could easily get ripped out of my face. She was discussing with her assistant how they could "just try and throw in" mismatched gems meant for a different type of piercing and my heart rate went through the roof. All I could think about was the gem getting stuck and ruining the bar, making it so I can never take it out, or having the rogue gem rust because it didn't fit properly and give me an infection in my FACE. During the ordeal, I saw the assistant's hands were gloveless and noticed the gem I came in with just laying on a nonsterile surface (it went right back in my face in the end, too...let's hope no used equipment was over there before I came in). After much debate between the piercer and assistant as to which gems they could try to force-fit, I was presented with a non-bezel gem not meant for surface piercing hardware. I took my chance then, said I wasn't interested in that style and left.
Maybe this place is fine for your standard piercings, but if you have a surface piercing or anything out of the ordinary, go to Lucky's in Northampton. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes with zero confusion and the proper jewelry.
As a note, I originally got the horizontal brow piercing at Rockstar in Providence, RI by someone I know personally and have trusted for years. He didn't give me a whack piercing job with mystery jewelry, so this experience at Crazy Chameleon was a...
Read moreThis is my second time going in and i just gotta say i love the atmosphere so much! I was so nervous when I got there and both the owner and her husband made me feel so much better just being their happy and silly selves. Not to mention how perfect she placed the piercing and how quick and painless it was. It’s been about 2 weeks now and I’ve never had a piercing heal so nicely. No dry skin, no irritation, no pain! The soap she has is amazing definitely worth the buy. I’ve been using it on my whole face and my acne cleared right up! Definitely an amazing place for someone getting pierced for the first time or just not sure what...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place.
She’s super cool. Friendly. Love her coworker too. Very welcoming.
But I got my nipples pierced three times. Each time either one was too deep was was too narrow or one was at an angle. I did in fact have to take them out the third time, as I went to another shops to confirm that I wasn’t going crazy.
I paid in total 155. Which I was willing.
I don’t think I would come back. But if you get pierced here don’t be afraid to speak up if you are unsatisfied. You win some...
