FYI - Observations from someone who recently considered purchasing a membership at PSCC.
First, the current rule set does not apply to all members. Out of the 2500+ lots at PSCC, at least 50% of them are grandfathered out of the current rule set. Many of these lots have run down rigs on them and look like they have not been maintained at all. Some lots are beautiful, where people have come in and really improved the lot and community in general.
The biggest issue I encountered was with the septic. PSCC has rules and regulations regarding regular pumping and maintenance of the septic system on each individual site, including keeping records about when septic systems have been serviced. However, the one site I decided I wanted to purchase ended up having a total septic system failure and it seemed to be somewhat of a surprise to the sales office. When I spoke to the sales person originally, I was told that the seller and/or PSCC would be responsible for any septic issues, but later I received a call back from the sales office stating that the seller acknowledged the system had failed, and that they were willing to split the cost 50/50 (approximately $5000.00 total).
This brings me to the crux of the situation with PSCC, specifically in terms of their sales team. They are very rushed, always in a hurry. To be fair, they will ask if you have any additional questions, but if you don't have a list of questions you will not be able to ascertain what you need to know via conversation or dialog. They are not diligent with email, instead relying on phone calls with the same hurried behavior, so you end up not having anything in writing that you can digest and consider. In addition, the sales office is only open about 3.5 days per week for a few hours each day. When I was there in person, and immediately after doing the self-tour, they were very much in a rush to close the office 15-20 minutes prior to their published office hours.
Grateful that I did not purchase a lot at PSCC as I did not get the "warm and fuzzies" from their sales staff.
One final observation (something noted in their documentation) is that the land will be turned back over to the Tulalip tribe in 2054 (75 year lease signed in 1977), so your investment has a relatively...
Read morei will still give them two stars because I love Port Susan and would love to live there full time. Yet I have to say that the new board members are not acting in the best interest of the park! Removing multiple department heads and leaving the park to fall apart from the inside out by having no service manager, no sales, so forget about getting a answer on buying a place or getting anything fixed. There are rangers still in place but the manager isn't so they are on their own. Not mention the Manager or GM of the entire park has been taken off duty and I am family and have no Idea why?? All I know is that the park has never looked better in twenty years! All the criminals have been kicked out or removed. Sites have been cleaned and dead or stolen cars are no longer scattered around. People are now actually following the rules and only staying 6 months unless they own two full places. Not one and a blank lot...and just switching key cards every six months. The best is that the diner is profitable with good food and not loosing thousands of dollars a month to thief employee's. I can't even imagine how much money they have saved by getting the people who were in control of it before out of there. They were robbing them blind. And they food wasn't the best. Over all the park has come leaps and bounds in the past couple years. The new board is not a real board. It is a conflict of interest. If someone can say the sky is red and five out of nine people will say 'I", just for loyalty. That's not a real board. It's a group of people who have a vendetta against the staff and maybe are jealous they are not getting paid to be on the board and want control over everything. I don't know. No one will say anything except rumors that have come from the board themselves. Real classy! FUBAR is what it is. The Tribe has never been happier with the people in management...
Read moreThis park has a extremely rude, unprofessional ranger!
After fighting traffic for more than an hour from Everett, I arrived at the park around 4:30 pm. I was going to pull up to the gate but seeing the sign saying to park on the side, I was going to back up but someone in the guard post waving me to pull up. When I got up to the gate, a ranger walked out, hand on his hip with a snicky looking on his face looking at me without saying anything, not even Hi or Hello let alone asking how he can help us. This is rude and unprofessional. I visited Lake Conner last month, everyone there were very professional, helpful and friendly, not like this ranger at Port Susan. Seeing another car coming behind me, he told me to circle around which I did. I was going to ask him a few quick question so I parked right outside the gate, he shouted from inside that I can not park there. Had enough, I get back in the truck slamming the door and was going to leave, he shouted from his post "with that attitude, you are not going in". I replied "I was not and am not going in with your attitude". He stood inside waving at me making face saying Bye Bye liked a little kid. It is difficult to believe that a person with the authority to enforce rules acting that childish! The sale office only opens six hours/ from 10am to 4pm and only to 3pm on Saturday (shorter hours on the weekend when more people have more free time). I am thinking about if I own a lot there, when I need to sell it probably takes a very long time! On the way up Marine Dr., at least 3 or 4 signs "Please don't drink and drive" made me worried how safe that road is.
I am not "going in" to your...
