I had an excellent experience at the Drive-In. These types of facilities have quickly died out and I have missed being able to enjoy a new movie in the comfort of my own vehicle. A couple of notes: they do no have the old school speakers, you will use your radio and dial in, and the sound comes from your own car speakers.
They have a great food stand, the employees are fast and friendly and the food is tasty, especially the pizza.
You get to watch two movies. The first is often kid-oriented as the 2nd is more for adults or families. The first will always have some sun peaking through, so if you hate that, wait for the 2nd film and it will be dark for the entire film.
My only qualm, which is a small qualm, is that the films are generally oriented towards kids or families and they donāt show a lot of hard āRā horror films. I was lucky and got to see āAlienā the night I attended. Iām hoping the owners may find that it is cheaper to get old horror film classics on screen and it might attract more adults to come watch the films, especially during Halloween. I say get all the Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and other classic horror flicks!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe are so fortunate to have this drive in in our little town. Its survived forever. Its very family oriented , showing an animated childrens show first, before the kids fall asleepā”. I remember back in the early 60s, getting to go to the drive inn with my family. I was such a little kid, my first time there! It was a dollar a person back then. Pre show entertainment was watching the other cars to see how many people they could hide in thier trunk! Entrance now is 20.00 a car. A much wiser fee I'd say! The drive in has had a lot of changes. Instead of the old faithful pipes with a speaker on a wire..the movies audio is wireless and come to you via your radio. The concession stand has more choices available, but we cant go indoors anymore. :( everyone is waited on at windows.. covid has changed everything hasent it? The building is badly in need of repairs and new siding. It would be a great thing for the city to step up and help save this vintage building. Because...when its gone....its...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis little gem is one of the few remaining staples of good livin' in the 50's. There are very few existing Drive In's today and anyone who lives in Las Vegas, New Mexico, can tell you that this place is important not just to history, but to Las Vegas life. This is a total hangout point for someone and their friends. That being said, the drive in serves many different theater foods, ranging from pizza, pickles, and popcorn to candy, coke, and crispy pretzels. The pizza can be a little dry (so I often order nacho cheese as one of the toppings) but the prices are reasonable. Sometimes the movies played were played the previous weeks. Two features every weekend in the summers, usually of the same genre. The movies sometimes start too early and you cannot see the beginning scenes. Also, the radio sometimes interrupts the movie. There are no refunds, even if it rains or something unfortunate happens. YOU WILL BE BLACKLISTED IF YOU TRY...
