I received a 5.11 L2 Tactical flashlight several years ago at the Maryland Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police Conference in Ocean City, MD, and used it extensively in my professional work as a videographer and photographer to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, retiring in 2015 after several years of working at the state police and correctional services academy location Sykesville, MD.
Shooting in remote and institutional locations throughout the state found me using this flashlight in some very challenging situations, and it worked perfectly no matter the weather conditions or the needs for extended illumination for long durations.
Since retirement I've continued to use the flashlight almost daily, but discovered last week that the cap containing the on/off selections was worn out, and I feared that I would damage the essential functionality if I continued to use it.
I contacted the customer service department at the 5.11 Operations Center, 3201 N. Airport Way, Manteca, CA 92626, via email, and dealt with Amy Riccardo, a Customer Service Representative. Amy immediately responded to my request for help in getting a replacement for the flashlight without hesitation, shipping the replacement to me this week!
The speed of her response and the high level of customer service was amazing! In these days of impersonal and difficult communications with companies regarding customer support and service it was a true blessing to experience such high-quality service for my need to replace the damaged flashlight (which has great sentimental value to me, in that the flashlight was given to me as a token of the work I did in support of the at the annual week-long Maryland Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police Conference.
I look forward to many more years of service from the replacement flashlight I'll be receiving in a few days, and want to be sure and extend my thanks and recognition to Amy Riccardo and other members of the 5.11 Customer Service Team for the excellent work done in providing such a high level of support for customers and clients.

Read moreI am highly disappointed in this store, especially after all of the hype that came along with it; "400,000 sq ft 5.11 facility will be amazing!!" Well, I stopped in and I was shocked by how small the store is. I've been to the 5.11 store in Sacramento, and this store seems TINY when compared to the Sac store. When I stepped foot in the door, I was looking to buy some uniform items, and the kids working here were really clueless about the products being offered in the store. But then again, I shouldn't be expecting tactical experts to be working in retail, so it's whatever.
I made a lap around the store to see where everything was, and I noticed that there is a VERY limited selection of uniform items.
Do you like to look like a total badass by wearing anything and everything with a 5.11 logo? Well, good news for you! The great majority of the clothing they have in-store is comprised of chinos, jeans, button-ups, t-shirts, polos, and regular workout clothes. Do you work in law enforcement? You'll find a few work pants, uniform shirts, holsters, and plate carriers for you SWAT people. EMS/Fire? Look elsewhere; they had nothing related to EMS or Fire in the store. Military? You can find some militaryesque pieces of equipment, though I highly doubt you'll get away with wearing them as uniform items. Are you a tacticool former Navy Ranger SEAL? Man, you'll be in heaven.
Sooooo, to summarize, this store is a huge letdown! Very limited selection, despite having a 400,000+ sq ft distribution center...
Read more1 star because the people were unfailingly polite. 1 star because the person who actually loaded me was knowledgeable and on the ball.
That being said, and aside from the guy who loaded me, people there were absolutely clueless. I was there to pick up a semi truck load. No one asked for my pick-up number, no one seemed to know who was responsible for getting me loaded, and no one passed on any info (I guess that's not a surprise since no one appeared to know who to pass it to.) Got a wonderful tour of the warehouse looking for someone with a glimmer of knowledge. Didn't find it... had to go back and have the office manager hunt him down after it became obvious my first trip inside was fruitless.
Kudos to the guy who loaded me... let's see how long you can keep this business afloat. (Best of...
