Laurens County Speedway — Local services in Laurens

I've only been once, and will not go again. One HUGE problem is the pit parking. As a mother of a toddler I don't go to most places like this because I have to chase my toddler everywhere and not really enjoy being there. Which is why I payed for pit parking. ( To park in the middle). So I can sit in the bed of my truck and let my toddler loose. So I can relax and enjoy what I payed for without worrying that he's in danger. The only problem with that is if I park in the middle I can't really see the race, just one corner. It would be better ( with my experiences at other tracks) to make the opposite side of the track from the bleachers to back your vehicle in. I'm sure people would pay more money for that as well. Other than that, and the drama that other spectators start, the track, staff, and races we're pretty awesome!! Which is why I give them a three...

I grew up at the dirt tracks of Pennsylvania Friday Saturday and Sunday nights. This is a beautiful track that I'm sure I'll be visiting a lot this summer. There are a couple of things that need some work for me to put the 5th star with my review. No. 1 is the flag man, his starts are all over the place, he's hesitant to throw the yellow even when there is obvious need to do so. No. 2 the show is to long way to much time to get cars lined up to start new races, it takes to long to get back racing after a caution. I watched track officials work on a lot of cosmetic car damage extending the yellow flag sessions. Extremely unorganized. We left at 2:30am and they were still running. People walking on a live track, children running around in the pits and almost getting hit, and they actually stopped warmup laps all night to let people walk into and out of the pits. The cars can’t make the first lap without crashing in turn 1.

Raw sewage coming up right behind the stands. People thought it was a mud-hole and kids were jumping it it. The smell was horrible. I have been to tracks all over the country. Some good and some bad, but nothing compares to this place.
