Went to this establishment to take in a movie. Like we have at least 20 times before without any issues. However tonight we found out that the projector was out, after buying tickets and drinks and popcorn. 30 minutes after the movie was to start the manager told the crowd the projector was broken. He told use that he would give us a refund. So we went to the snack bar where the other patrons also gathered for a refund. I was first in line waited another 15 minutes for the manager to come out of his office. Then he comes out a wants to give us a free movie pass. That’s not a refund. I’m out 37.16 for tickets, popcorn and drinks. I asks him politely I would like a full refund. He told me in no uncertain term. He was not giving a refund on the snacks. With an attitude. He then said “ I work for a corporation Man!!!” So I asked “ I would like the owners phone number Man!!. So he went back in his office for another 5 minutes and gave me the phone number 217-242-1045 called it, no answer, no professional greeting on answering machine. Who’s number did he give me ? Hey, I understand that his equipment was at fault but who’s fault is that? Mine ? I bought the snack bar items because I was going to see a movie. Maybe he is more of a snack bar kind of guy and not Manager material. He just handled it all wrong because he was pissed off. Now I have to go to another theater that’s farther away. It really didn’t have to be like this. They still made money off this...

It's old. I remember was this theater first opened, probably in the late 90's to early 2000's. I saw the first Fast and Furious film here. This theater was amazing when it first came out. Now, compared to the AMC's in KC and the home theater experiences you can buy for cheap, this place is not much.
We went and saw Deadpool 2. Pretty funny movie, but the seats were broken. The popcorn looked old and stale, we didn't buy any. Everything had a kind of sticky vibe to it.
The arcade had a couple broken machines; we didn't play anything but checked it out.
It's an old theater. It's kind of fun because you're on vacation, but most of positive memories here are simply nostalgic value. Don't come expecting the same quality you'd get...
Read moreI first visited this theater in 1998 when my grandfather lived behind it on Knob Haven rd. I went by the theater as I cruised down memory lane. I was surprised to see that it had withstood the test of COVID, Netflix, YouTube, Vudu, Hulu and Amazon Prime. My wife, daughter and I rolled in and thought we'd check out the menu and see what they were showing...or if they were even open. I was excited to see that it was. I figured there was no way prices would be reasonable. This place exceed all of my expectations. It was clean. The popcorn was great, the sound quality, picture, seating and everything was great. We plan to move to the Lake one day and hopefully when we get here, we can still go to this theater....
