I cannot recommend Juniper Hill Farms enough, for a variety of reasons!
Not only have I bought their incredible produce for years at the farmers market, but as a professional wedding photographer, this is a top-notch venue for any couple looking for a gorgeous wedding. I had the honor of photographing a wedding there yesterday, and this location is full of incredible views and details. You would be hard-pressed to find a spot here that isn't beautiful, or the perfect backdrop for photos, and the entire Thellman family is so welcoming and ready to do whatever they can to make your day run smoothly.
Now, the food. The food is absolutely worth mentioning, because oh my goodness. The wood-fired pizza is literally the best pizza I have ever eaten, and this is a big deal because I also have a gluten allergy, which they accommodated for! The ingredients were fresh and in perfect proportion, and I was just blown away.
I will definitely be returning with my family for their pizza nights, and I'm honestly wondering how I will be able to cull the 1,000+ photos I took because every one is just a gem. Book this venue, eat the pizza, buy their produce...
Read moreExperience you don't want to miss and it's just 20 minutes away from Lawrence! Their pizza is a must try, mad with freshest ingredients from their own farm. The grilled shishito with parmesan is so fresh and filled with taste. If you go for the salad, the gorgonzola dressing is highly recommended. The pizza is personal sized, so if you are like me and can eat a whole pie at Domino's, it might cost you a bit. The atmosphere is magical and the outdoor seating takes your breath away at sunset. Also, expect to be visited by absolutely adorbale fur friends, two dogs and several cats. The only issue I had is reserving a seat because they sell out within hours of opening reservations online for the next month. But, give them a call and if you are lucky you might be able to get in without a reservation if they are...
Read moreWe attended a lovely wedding ceremony and celebration here. Prior to the ceremony, mimosas were served in the barn. The ceremony was in the shade of a huge sycamore tree, overlooking the valley and hills of Lawrence to the south. After the ceremony, brunch was available buffet-style, with many savory and sweet selections to fit different dietary needs (ingredients clearly labeled), along with several beverage options. Folks could sit at picnic tables in the yard, tables with umbrellas for shade on the patio, or in the barn in comfy arrangements in the re-purposed stalls. The staff members were friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive. This is a beautiful farm setting for many different types of...
