Gwinnett Hot Air Balloon Festival 2022
If you've never been to a Hot Air Balloon Festival before, then this one is okay for a first timer. The cost was $20 per adult for a single day admission. The gates open at 3pm each day but the balloons don't typically start to be put up until after 5pm.There were 7 balloons including the ReMax balloon, but the ReMax Balloon came down before the Lazer show. Provided the weather is good and the wind is less than 5 miles per hour, you can do balloon rides for $25 (you go up and down in a tethered balloon). The Lazer Show wasn't the best. They shot the lazers into the air without a backdrop so you really couldn't see the patterns they were supposed to be forming. They played cool 80s music though for the lazer show. No coolers or outside food and drinks are allowed. There were many food vendors/food trucks but lines were long for several of them. These are all independently owned so I did my part in supporting small private business owners. They were selling glow stick products/toys.There were several jumpie houses and slides as well as a tractor train ride all available at an extra cost. They had a free magic show with several times available to see throughout the event. They also had the main building open with several craft vendors inside with nice products to purchase. Again the vendors are small business owners and I did my part in supporting them by making some purchases of their products. There were some nice products there that would make good Christmas gifts. Bottom line, if you want a fun evening out with the kids or you've never been to a Hot Air Balloon Festival, then this one is an okay one to attend. There is the option to buy a three day ticket but I wouldn't recommend it. One night is all you need to see everything. If you've been to a bigger show prior to this one, you'll probably be disappointed in this one due to it's small size in comparison to others. My hope is that the Gwinnett Hot Air Balloon Festival will grow in the years to come to be bigger and better by having more balloons and by also developing a...
Read moreWorst decision was to come here and try to experience a fair I’ve never been to. Really horrible time. The staff was rude, unprofessional and unscrupulous. One vendor tried to scam us and then had the audacity to call us bums. He literally tricked us into playing a game without explaining instructions/rules. When I tried to ask questions, he ignored them and led us to play implying we wouldn’t have to pay unless we won, even though I made it clear I only wanted to play for a specific prize multiple times. He tried to scam us into paying more than we signed up for, for a prize I never expressed interest in and then tried to demand money from us. When we didn’t fall for the trick, he got mad and called us bums. I felt if it went any farther, he would’ve tried to scam us into paying $100 for a little teddy bear. At this point, the casino wouldve been more fair. By the way, prices were not an issue for us but lack of integrity and transparency was. Not being from Gwinnett, I also felt like there were micro aggressions involved during some interactions. Many of the rules/policies of the fair were arbitrary based on who you were which came across as profiling. For example, a woman followed me to the entrance to make sure I didn’t bring in my purse all while allowing multiple people with bags inside. Everything from rides to food to customer service were low quality. The only bright side of it was a nice man at the shotgun game booth who provided a short fun time amidst the many disappointments. I love fairs, but You couldn’t pay me to go back to the Gwinnett county fair. I’ll be going back to the GEORGIA STATE FAIR where I had a great time and felt welcome. I will never come back here again in my life and I recommend it to no one. Save your money and go to the North Georgia/Georgia State Fair. I’m from Atlanta, I don’t fw Gwinnett anymore. Disappointing experience. No...
Read moreThis place has some of the rudest staff and vendors. Upon entry, they tied the wristbands on my kids and I asked them to NOT to tie it too tightly as my kids have eczema on the crevices of their wrists, but did he listen, no. He tightened it and when I asked for it to be loosened, he said no, you can't. There was a back and forth but he was rude and mugging was done about the situation. We had a staff member on the kids motorcycle ride stop and start the ride for various reasons. The second time he stopped the ride, my son thought it was over and took his seat belt off. He had to stop the ride again for him to put his seat belt back on and he yelled at my son who then stared to cry. There was no warning or explanation when starting or stopping. My son was not trying to misbehave, he simply did not know the ride was going to randomly start back up. He was unapologetic and very rude. I then bought frozen lemonade from the stand, and I asked for it to be filled to the top since there was about 2 inches of space left. For $16.50 it better be a full cup of lemonade but when she topped it off (which she actually didn't even do)she didn't close the lid and just handed me the cup and there was lemonade dripping everywhere on me and the sides of the cup. I asked for napkins and they don't have any, just rags. The vendors do not know what customer service is. This fair really need to step it up in their ethics, value, and...
