Yesterday me and my son happened to stop here. My husband happened to be attending a funeral down the street from here and we were a little too early to pick him up. While driving less than a mile from the church we noticed the blue sign that kinda sit off from the road. We were only trying to kill a little time and I love fishing so I decided to check it out. We pulled in and went to check into the Bait Shop as we were instructed to by the signage on property. There were two men on duty and they both were friendly, helpful and encouraged me to try the property out since it was my first time being there. They had everything a person would need to start their fishing adventure. There was a nominal fee that was well worth the price to enjoy the lake. As you entered the lake part you could see geese and ducks enjoying the property, there was a boating launch part if you wanted to go out in the middle and fish and there was a bridge that extended across it for up close fishing. The bridge also led to a part of the lake that was exclusive for children 12 and under. It obviously was stocked with fish to help encourage the younger kids to get involved with fishing. They had a little paddle boat attached to the bridge if you wanted to go out in that. I saw multiple families out there enjoying the lake with their children. It is definitely a family oriented place for you and the kids to enjoy the joy of fishing. I saw a man catch some catfish and another man catch something that he put up too quick for me to identify. There was benches out there for you to sit and had several spots where it appeared someone had a fire pit started the old fashioned way out of wood. Next to the fire pits were trees that had already been chopped so you could easily start a night fire if need be. The noise level was respectable as everyone seemed to be totally focused on the sport of fishing. Me and my son were not there long at all but while there we sat on the benches enjoying the waterfall that was in the middle of the lake, my son walking up to the ducks and their babies and enjoying the peaceful serene scenery. As we exited it also asked that you stop into the bait shop and check out. Again, the man was friendly flashing me a smile and wave as we drove off. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone...

3 catfish in 5 hours 30 minutes. Didn't have luck until after it rained. Started off with 4 poles. Found 2 more up on the bank. Made a Franken pole and stated to rip lips. Caught all 3 around the dock located in the middle of the lake. Staff was honest when I called and asked when it was stocked. They even told me on the phone it was slow. So I wasn't expecting much. When I got there it was 20 dollars for my girlfriend and me. They offer military discount and the front desk was very helpful. Also talk to some of the lacals very nice and informative as well. Overall slow to start and started catching them when I was getting ready to leave. Best luck with chicken hearts and livers. Cats ranging from 3-7 lbs. Cons would've had to been the buzzards eating my bait. Also wouldve bwen nicw to drop the kayak in the water. Like to see it when it first...

Don't spend your money $12 to fish. They say it is stocked but it's a block from my house I've been there a handful of times and there is small fish if any. The guys in the store lie and tell you a big one was caught earlier in the day. Worst place to pay and fish. Waste of your time. If you want to get ripped off or lies to this is your place to be. What a joke. And he calls me and my friend your Black people catch too much fish. And he said we have to pay for the fish anh we pay him $36 for 3 person to fishing and we have to pay for the fish we catch to much fish. He doesn't have to call my friend black peoples. If you come here to fishing ask him what color do you have to be to come in...

$12 for me and $5 for my son - not a single bite. I purchased their recommended baits for both the kiddie pond and the adult fishing area - nada. The grounds themselves are full of garbage from previous visitors including; broken glass, rusty hooks, beer cans, and jagged metal fire pits. The bait shop is run down and you have to walk through someone’s bedroom to get to the bathroom which also obviously belongs to a tenant. Feeding the resident vultures, of which there are dozens, was the best part of the experience.

They no longer stock the pond. We stopped by and guy said " we restocked 2 days ago, 3 times this month". Out there 5 hours, no bites. The guys bext to us had 5-7 poles out and we asked him. He said hes been there every day that week and that was a lie. Like others have posted, since ownership/management change it has gone extremely down hill. But if you like ducks, you can watch the ducks swim.

Prices on the website are not up to date, but I uploaded a photo of the updated prices. Catch and release pond is perfect for kids (kids only can fish there). Lots of litter around but the staff have plenty trash cans around. Very family friendly, lots of spots with shade and room for a chair on a summer week day afternoon. There's a bathroom available in the office
