Was on a BDR trip with some other vehicles. After staying dispersed for 3 nights (of which we set up dang near in the dark 2nights), and unfortunately losing a car to issues and it limping home. We pushed through to cashmere hoping to make it to section 4. We could have but the drive to dispersed camp spots would make it a 3rd night setting up in the dark. So we landed in Cashmere at the city park to formulate a plan. We started looking at and calling some campgrounds to no avail exvept 1 saying, why not try the expo, i drove past and they had alot of openings. We had seen it when we were goolging places to camp... but saw RV and thought we got 2 ground tents, a rooftop tent, and camper. Idk if theyll let us all in. But we decided to drove on over. We found the campgost Mike... best host in the world. Great info, good convo. And he let us know were always welcome. Its 35 per spot ie RV pullthrough. But u can have a tent as well for an extra fee. So we were able to grab 2 pullthroughs... have running water, electricity... indoor plumbing (with i swear a heater in the restroom, cuz during the night it was nice n warm...) AND SHOWERS!!! All included in the price. Because of the 1. Location 2. Price 3. And finally Mike, we are definitely coming back when we do that section of the BDR again. Facilities were clean... the hookups were rocksolid and safe (no electrical ratsnest like ive seen at other places) and just a great atmosphere. They have online reservations... or if ure in a pinch stop by n see the host and hopefully luck out at a great...
Read moreChelan County Expo is located in a quiet field outside Cashmere, offering level FHU sites in a rather unusual pull-through/buddy site layout. We were camped over the busy Memorial Day holiday, and while the park was pretty full, the site next to us remained empty. We enjoyed a pretty spacious camping experience, and the camp hosts do their best to space folks out and/or keep them near other campers they want to be near. However, the spots are tight if you have neighbors all around. Our utilities were easy to reach and worked well, and there is plenty of room to walk a dog, including a small fenced in park. The location is convenient to exploring Cashmere, Wenatchee, and Leavenworth, and Verizon worked fine here without a booster. While it isn’t the most scenic CG we’ve ever stayed at (open field camping with no trees), they keep it neat, and we would...
Read moreThis was a perfect place for us to stay while my husband took paragliding lessons in Cashmere. Usually you can only stay for 4 days, with the possibility of a single 4 day extension. But because the virus has shut down events at the expo center, we were able to keep extending, staying 3 weeks in total. One highlight was the amazing wifi--the best park wifi we have experienced yet! It was fast, even for streaming, and very reliable. Otherwise, the campground is simply a field with full hookups. At times we were a bit too close to neighbors. But most people were super quiet, and everyone was very respectful of quiet hours. Steve, the host, runs a tight ship very visibly, which we appreciate. And it's by far the cheapest non-boondocking place we've camped since starting full-timing in March. We have to return to Cashmere next week, and we for sure will...
