Woodglen General Store — Local services in Lebanon Township

The two lovely women working behind the counter today were so welcoming and friendly! They were just as excited about ordering some food as I was!

The woodglen special is a total slam dunk 10/10. The warm roast beef coupled with the coleslaw and Russian dressing hit the spot. It was the sandwhich that I needed, delicious!

My wife got a classic roast beef w tomato and let me tell you. Simple ingredients done correctly will knock your socks off! That's what the roast beef with tomato achieved for us! The beef was so tender and juicy, the mayo evenly distributed, the perfect amount of salt and pepper. AND that tomato. The iconic, farm fresh NJ tomato, was the foundation of this sandwhich. Great roast beef carries its own weight, but when paired with a juicy deep red slab of tomato sends your taste buds to the stratosphere.

I can not say enough good things about this place. The beverage and snack choices are unique, taste great, and are health conscious! The elderberry white tea flower and the lychee rose sparkling botanical beverages by Petal were so refreshing!

10/10 would recommend to a friend. Have to return to try the meatball sandwhich, and the beefy cheesesteak.

PS I would return just to eat those savory and crunch dill pickles that COME WITH...

I love this place. I moved up the mountain to here when the old owners took over (not the original owner who recently passed) and I liked it just fine. Rob and the crew have done a job and a service that I didn't know I needed! These are the best sandwiches in town. The store is clean, and has lots of convenient grab and go options if you're not looking to wait a few minutes for a sandwich. The Hunterdon Happenings list is not a coincidence, it is well deserved. It's hard choosing where and how to spend your money on food these days. Everyone is ballin' on a budget and we tend to cook at home way more often, but at least once a week I have to drop by the general store either for a must-have sandwich special or for a breakfast sandwich. Sandwiches are small, in plastic containers with salad or slaw of the day. Bread often has seeds on it and not particularly good. It's just not what I expect from a NJ deli. The sandwiches there used to be awesome. Lots of meat, killer bread. Salads sold separately. Not trying to be a snob, but the change over there is very disappointing to me. The people are very nice. The last guy was definitely not a people person and very politicaly obnoxious for sure.
