Boone County Fairgrounds — Local services in Lebanon

We had our first experience at what I believe is the annual Hoosier Hardwood Festival at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, IN, on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Brought our 4 and 6 year old grandsons and we all had a great time. Didn't know what to expect, so many things came as a pleasant surprise. Chainsaw sculptures (ongoing as well as completed pieces for sale), tree-felling competition, and lumbering equipment on display that the boys could climb into. Rudd Equipment personnel were especially friendly with the boys. They and others, including Indiana DNR, had nice freebies to take home. Food and beverage vendors were plentiful and not outrageously priced. Grounds and restrooms were reasonably clean. You can try your hand at hatchet throwing, too. We could not stay for log-rolling, active fire-fighting, and expect that there were other things to see and do that we missed when we ran out of time and energy. We went there for the first time for the Covid 19 test.. We got there before it opened ,and the 4 spots were already full ! There were no markings on the asphalt marking where the line was to start, or signs to explain how it all worked ! 5 minutes after 8 someone finaly waved Spot no.1 to come in, while the other the 3 sat in their cars.By the time we left it seemed the 4 people in the spots were going in as soon as they pulled up we waited until the person before us came back out..No one knew for sure which way it should have been for sure! Very chaotic! Another man drove straight up to the dorr,went inside ignoring the long line of cars waiting patiently for their turn! I would call the whole situation, a disaster waiting to happen because of a lack of paint lines ,or...

This was our first year involved with this fair.... It did not disappoint!!! First of all there is no price for... Admission, parking, and shuttle rides!!! The food is amazing(been to quite a few fairs over the years and they are really good) and this year they had bubble parties and Queens Tea( my 6 year old daughter got to meet the 4H fair court. She was mesmerized! All in all they focus on the kids! I highly recommend anyone bringing anyone to this place. I bet you find...
