Final Updateoverall feel FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! I could not be more satisfied with the customer service and care that was taken with my mother's clothing and the donation items that were taken into distribute to those in need! I also found some fabulous outfits 3 dresses and 2 wallets and spent 40 bucks! A++
So I've been going through a pretty difficult time trying to weed through all of my mother's belongings after her passing. She was absolutely a bonafide hoarder; but a lot of her clothes were not just high quality brands, but most still have the tags on them! However, when it came to trying to go through or get rid of things in this house in addition to the process it takes to do it; has been a complete nightmare. I've had even donation places that just do that, only deny to pick up my 'gifted' and 'donated' items because they can't handle the load. That being said I was taking a chance by gathering what I knew to be exactly what Clothes Mentor accepts and their styles and sizes of brand new perfect clothing items just to see if I could get anything out of it at all. I've never had a great experience with any resale shop of any kind. Even the previous owners of this location-I've never had a good reports or experience. However, I reached out via their Facebook page a couple days in advance just to give them a heads up as to the amount and what I would be bringing in, and not only did they reply immediately but that they were more than happy for me to come in. Even the day I did come in; although the one lady who does the pricing (I'm guessing is the owner) who was right they're going through all of the piles in front of me; responded more than polite and was more than happy to take care of me. And although it wouldn't probably be quoted or done that day, they were happy yet take it. As I started to tell her my story and my situation She also offered information for donation resources and relationships she has made a that have been very beneficial. Ultimately she informed me about a connection to a woman who has distributed donated items to local shelters and benefits to women who are trying to acclimate to society after incarceration. I already had a car full of things I was hoping to find a clothes donation bin along the way or on my way home from this trip and all I had to do was pull around back and they took those too! I have been so satisfied just with the initial experience itself and the mindfulness taken to everything that should be as far as the items I was donating or wanting to resell. Every part of this experience so far has been more than helpful but also fulfilling to know that my mother's items are going to a good cause and a great company in order to get something if anything out of her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff was cordial. The front of the store was packed with items being sold. I was wondering how would they possibly pay attention to everything I brought in to sell. When I went back in to check on my items I was told to take them back and wash them and try again. I found that to be very offensive. No one took the time to show me what they felt needed washing. The items I brought in were very gently used, most were worn maybe once some were actually brand new and were definitely not dirty. If they had taken the time to check they would have known this. When I got the items back, I checked the tub and I know for sure they had not been removed and looked at. I knew exactly how I packed them and it seemed nothing had even been moved out of the container. Since I know the clothes werenāt dirty I wonder was it something about me that gave them the impression that my items would be dirty? A friend suggested that I try this place, however I will never go back there to sell or buy. I just donated the clothes and Iām sure someone will be very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe place smells like old moldy wrinkled clothes. The place is so packed with clothes it is not a boutique it is a thrift store. Thrift stores are more organized. The owner would yell from under a ton of clothes if she would take my clothes or not. Very unproffesional. I came to pick up my clothes she said they smelled like pot. My clothes are in my closet. I am nowhere around my husband who has MS and another disability for his time left here. I was very offended. She acted like I poisoned her. She was probably smelling the skunk of the store. Nothing worth a dollar as far as I can see. It's an over packed one dollar store. My clothes are too good for that kind of treatment. I had an expensive seed pearl purse with a silk lining and when I came to check my clothes when I got home , I found pearls in the box. Where it was mishandled. I'm sure she wouldn't want to buy it. If I find one more pearl missing in the box, I will have to recoup 2200.00. I thought this was a...
