Edit: I am changing my review to a more positive one. Even though we’ve had a terrible experience with Amber, and since the original review had a couple more issues with Amber’s terrible follow-through and communication skills, the manager Amanda has been a great help in accommodating and assisting us with the items we needed and had ordered. Amanda was professional and knowledgeable as well as genuine in her wanting to help make the situation better. If you go to Ferguson just make sure you avoid Amber.
We worked with Ferguson for our new home build. Went out to make our selections for our home in Mid-May. Amber was knowledgeable enough through the process. We selected plumbing faucets, fixtures, and all appliances. As we were finishing, we were assured we'd get an email breakdown of our purchases and prices. Never received any such an email. Fast forward through the months, Amber was impossible to get a hold of by our realtor to get basic information from if needed. 4 months later after initial choices made, I call Amber to check on the status of our deliveries of our appliances and she assured me everything would be delivered and "Oh, it'll be enough time to get everything." She then went over my order with me over the phone and genuinely assured me that everything would be delivered. Fast forward 3 weeks later after final payment made over the phone a week before, and a delivery for refrigerator and washer, dryer SCHEDULED to be delivered, we are set to move into our house and get an email from Amber that they are getting their back order items organized and we will have to wait for two months for these items. She also informs us that the items we ordered 4 months before have been on back order for 2 months. (Not sure how that works...) My husband and I are quite frustrated and overwhelmed also lacking understanding at how several conversations over the last few weeks and a scheduled delivery for these items, and no one could tell us they were back ordered until a day before they were to be delivered?! How unprofessional and inconsiderate. Do not waste your time going here. You might have an 'OK' initial first experience, but if you work with Amber don't count on being treated courteously or with any degree of consideration as far as keeping you in the loop or ordering your items when you buy them... 4 months later she tells us our items have been on back order for 2 months... how does that math work? Go somewhere else and spend a little extra $$! It'll potentially save you a huge headache and A...
Read morePretty sad experience considering we bought close to $35K in top of the line appliances for a kitchen redo (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, etc). Sales staff not that well informed, but we got around that as we knew what we wanted going in.
But, their pro-installation is a joke. $1900 for delivery and basically shove the appliances in the holes. 1st crew forgot to secure the dishwasher or balance the door, so it would tip when the door was opened and door would just about take you knee cap off when it slipped out of your hand because you weren't expecting a heavy load......these doors are heavy when not balanced. No way the installer could miss this...he just didn't care.
2nd crew came in a few days later and admitted the 1st crew didn't do the dish washer or compactor installation right and proceeded to correct it. That night the dishwasher still tipped forward when the door was opened, but at least they did balance it. One of the crews left their level behind the compactor when I pulled it out to attach it right.
All crews were friendly and personable, but I'm not paying almost $2K for friendly guys, I expect someone who cares and knows what they are doing.
I reinstalled the trash compactor this morning correctly and will do a better install on the dishwasher tomorrow. Was not level or in the opening squarely, although the installers blamed in on the cabinet...funny, it looks great now...square in the hole, level and operates better. I just hope we don't have any appliance issues as I'm not sure what kind of technicians I would get for repair work.
My advice is avoid the pro-installation and find someone else to install if you can't do it yourself. Delivery should be free at this price level and the installation was horribly expensive, especially when the installers don't know what they are doing. I feel sorry about people who aren't handy and can't redo the installations correctly.
The receptionist (older and former sales rep) is stellar and helped us out of all issues. She seemed to be more concerned about customer service than anyone else we dealt with and was a real pleasure...
Read moreIf you are building a home. Don't let your builder send you here. They used to be a great company. You will pay for your products up front. In my case six months in advance. When you need your appliances they may not be there. We cut our countertop to the specifications of the cooktop and found out on delivery day it was missing from the order. The manager Laura of the lees summit store had no explanation or apologies. Just we don't have it. I had to call all over the country to find one that would fit our cut out and thankfully I did at Lowes Also, had purchased a refrigerator from Ferguson. It was delivered and was not able to cool. They would NOT replace it. They sent a second party service person to repair the refrigerator and he said it needed 12 new parts. I then demanded they pick it up and give me a refund. After spending hours on the phone with 4 different people I still sit here with out my refund and I am furious!!! They are now saying it will be the first of the month before corporate will file the credit. Ugh!!! Maybe 10 months later I will get my credit. Also, I had two orders one through plumbing and one through appliances. They tried to collect money on both orders twice. Thankfully I keep very thorough records and had to send the copies of my checks. That should tell you something about the professionalism of this company. You do not have to purchase your appliances , or plumbing through Ferguson. Don't let your builder tell you that you do. Best buy and Lowes have all the same things. Best Buy has outstanding customer service and they will beat anyones price. It was so refreshing to get my cooktop from Lowes and Refrigerator from Best Buy. Now if I can get my credit from Ferguson it will be a lesson learned. Hopefully you won't have the...
